I think if kirkland didn't go to jail he would have been a star today. he has freakish power and killer instinct that would put fear on anyone. Here's to hoping he has kept his hunger and tighten his screws upstairs little bit.
James Kirkland is going to come back and dominate the 154 pound division!!

I will first have to see what prison did to Kirkland. It doesn't always produce a better fighter, Mike Tyson for example. Hopkins is on the other end so James will either be better or worse. One thing I believe, he will not be the same.
I don't believe Anne Wolfe will be his trainer. This guy needs to move out to the east coast or west coast. Roach may be a good fit.Comment

Man williams would get his head knocked off if he fights kirkland. Williams has zero defense and kirkland has crippling power with decent speed. Altho not sure how much the jail time affected him. i'm sure it has.Comment

Kirkland seems to be getting Valero Syndrome where he becomes a better fighter the more he doesnt fight. Im just glad that, unlike Valero, hes coming back and we'll get to see if he can actually live up to the hype. I predict excitement followed by it all ending in tears.Comment

Guarantee you his first fight back is at SMW-MW. He's overweight, he won't be in the right boxing shape and mentality until next year. He's been gone FOR OVER A YEAR IN JAIL.Comment

not true. i haven't seen manny in with a counter puncher since he fought JMM. same with Martinez. i haven't seen him in there with margarito like power & agression since he fought margo. willams is a volume puncher who gives up his height. pavlik is a one two guy. jab jab right hand.
study up on these fighters please.Last edited by americanbot; 08-05-2010, 04:09 PM.Comment

richard schaefer claims that he's looking in good shape & he's coming back to 154 without a doubt.Comment

Nah man, it's almost impossible to get that out of shape in a US jail with the garbage food, unless you aren't doing ****.
Kirkland was pretty big for 154, but I don't think he let himself get past 180, which is excellent for a year and a half off. I have a lot of confidence in Kirkland, kid is a beast.Comment
