I gave the 1st rd to Pirog because he landed the only meaningful punch of the round. Rd 2 I gave to Pirog because ho shook Jacobs.. Rds 3 and 4 I gave to Jacobs because he started to get a rhythm going and landed some good combos... So I had it even 38-38
The Pirog/Jacobs scorecards were an absolute disgrace

Jacobs was fighting extremely well, but you could tell the pace he was being forced to fight at was too much for him even when he was being effective. I thought the score should have been a bit closer but i did think Jacobs was up, but sooner or later Pirog was going to get to him, very impressive KO victory.Comment

Really? Since when? Go learn the rulebook mate. Tying up is most definitely not illegal. Excessive holding is though. There is a major difference. Tying up is as much a skill, or used to be anyway, as slipping and blocking.
It is a big part of boxing and is not at all illegal. Don't spout rubbish if you don't actually know anything about it.Last edited by BennyST; 08-03-2010, 10:10 AM.Comment

Wow, someone with a brain.Jacobs was fighting extremely well, but you could tell the pace he was being forced to fight at was too much for him even when he was being effective. I thought the score should have been a bit closer but i did think Jacobs was up, but sooner or later Pirog was going to get to him, very impressive KO victory.
Oh wait, no! Pirog won every single round easily without even trying. Jacobs didn't land a single punch. PWN! LAmo!!!

I think some are getting just a little overexcited. or are you forgetting he won by brutal KO? So what, he lost most of the rounds early on. It would have been part of his plan anyway. Stop pretending as if it takes away from him. That's how boxing goes. You pressure the **** out of someone, give away a few rounds to gain many more later on and possibly stop them. He stopped him early! Just goes to show how good he was. Doesn't mean he wasn't losing on points nor does it take away from his great performance.Comment

See, this is a perfect score and very reasonable. Giving every round to Pirog is not only utterly idiotic, it shows you have no idea how to score a fight. If you saw the higher landed blows for Jacobs in round one for him, then he takes it, if you score the more meaningful shot for Pirog then it goes to 38-38.
None of it matters though because Pirog scored an amazing, brutal KO!
Arghhhhh! Why are people so moronic here!?!Comment

Again, another who understands something about scoring a boxing match. Yay for common sense. Please, don't call me some Fat Yank hick from the good ol' US of A. I can't stand Jacobs at all, and I love Pirog but people have gotta understand that scoring a fight and winning a fight are very different. Jacobs was ahead, Pirog won by KO.Comment
