    Pirog has been boxing for a long time now. At 30 years old dude has 230 amateur fights and won multiple regional titles:

    WBC International Middleweight Title (2009)
    # WBC International Middleweight Title (2009)
    # WBO Asia Pacific Middleweight Title (2007-10)
    # Asian Boxing Council Middleweight Title (2007-08)
    # CIS and Slovenian Boxing Bureau (CISBB) Middleweight Title (2007)
    # Russian Middleweight Title (2006)

    So I don't think you can call Pirog a green rookie.

      But that's the thing. Jacobs did go to sleep. That's why it was stopped. If Pavlik was hit that hard by Taylor, not even the bell would have saved him. I understand that people wanna see real KOs or a combination causing the TKO, but fighters do have lives too. Did you hear Jacobs complaining about the stoppage after the fight? No. He knew it was finished. Its just a fighter's mentality to want to get up.

          Isnt DJ a multi US amatuur champ? Hasnt he won new york and national golden gloves. Did he not win a jr olympic gold? Did he not have 140 odd amatuer fights. By your rekoning DJ is just as much a vet as PMAN.

          GBP tried to hand DJ a world title with a silver spoon. But the silver spoon equally inexperienced out worked and ****** him out.

            You must think I'm trying to take something away from Pirog but I'm not. Danny faced far weaker competition than Pirog did to get this shot. Even the announcers were saying it during the fight. Only titles Danny won are amateur titles. While Pirog was sparking out pros back in the mother country. Pirog was a beast GBP slept on and thought the Golden child was ready for. The difference between experience levels showed itself yesterday. Everybody new that Pirog had more experience coming into the fight they just thought that Jacobs might have the talent to overcome that.

            * 2006 United States Amateur middleweight champion
            * 2005 National PAL champion
            * 2005 National Golden Gloves middleweight champion
            * 2004 National Golden Gloves welterweight champion
            * 2004 National PAL champion
            * 2004 United States national champion in the 19-and-under division
            * 2003 Junior Olympics national champion

            Maybe GBP will build the kid up properly then try again 10 fights later.

              Pirog is hardly a vet though hes just as green in the pro ranks as DJ. Pirog was just better on the night. Round 2 DJ took a hammering.

                He crumpled to the ground, layed out flat on his back and had the most blank expression on his face for like 4-5 sec. He was simply out cold and woke up and wanted to get up.

                It like arguing the ref needed to give a 10 count to hatton when pac laid him out

                  Well lets put it like this wouldn't you say Pirog most likely had tougher fights coming up. Wouldn't you say The Asian, and Baltic titles against pros would be harder to get then a golden glove title vs rookies? So no matter how you put it Pirog was supposed to win and Jacobs was hyped up.

                    Cmon no way was Pirog meant to win. This was meant to be an easy world title. Pirog is more experienced yes but not a veteran. Jacobs will come back but im not sure how far he will go.

                      Well lets agree that we both want to see a rematch once Jacobs gets some more experience. As for Pirog I want to see how he matches up against say Angulo.
