  • Why the EFF didn't the ref let Jacobs get up last night???

That **** was infuriating to me. That fight was getting good and then this son of a ***** big Byrd pushes Danny back down when he was trying to get up.

I guess taking the count on your back is illegal now.

Bull**** stoppage imo. Danny looked ok to continue to me. Way to end a potentially great fight *******.

Let's see...Perhaps because he fell asleep while he was falling to the canvas? If he had gotten up, the fight would have ended in the next 10 seconds. He wouldn't have had any legs, or anything for that matter. And he would have taken more punishment than necessary. Great stoppage.

I agree...they totally forfeited that match to him...its like the 10 count doesn't really exist anymore...how many times have we seen refs wave off a fight when the guy is standing and hasn't reached the 8 or 9 count. I'm all for fighter's saftey...but c'mon...you have to let these guys make an attempt. For most of the fighters...they only get one shot to make it happen...take it away and that's it...

The ref counted to five and then waved it off...I'd be super pissed...if I was Jacobs, the F bombs would be coming all day...

He was aware...he should have been given a 10 count...its only fair...Pavlik looked like he was going to sleep while fighting Taylor...if they had waved that fight off...then Pavlik wouldn't have been anything

Yeah, I found that a bit odd. I mean, he would've been KO'd shortly after he got up, but you want to see it really, don't you? Otherwise we might as well just stop all fights the moment someone looks like they've taken control.

Jacobs' head seemed clear, so I don't think there was any heightened risk of brain trauma or anything.

Jacobs seemed pretty aware while he was arguing with that big bastard to let him stand up.

Byrd shouldn't be allowed to ref anymore fights.

i agree , he could have at least waited to see if danny was on steady legs before calling it off , not even giving him that chance was ******

I thought Byrd was about to try and submit him.

I do think he should have been allowed to continue but he probably would've gotten KO'd badly after. GBP ****ed up and didn't prepare Jacobs to fight different styles before putting him in the ring with a vet like Pirog. Jacobs looked confused and lost in the ring. Talent wise his speed and talent is above Pirog but right now Pirog owns him. I would love to see a rematch in 6 months time.

I think he wanted to pin him down and make sweet love to him.
