Reed you keep hitting me with the stats and of course they are 100% correct. But he has to hit floyd too. Your posts seem to imply that roy has no adjustments to make. Like fighting floyd is like fighting all other opponents. I respectfully disagree.

Roy was great, he wasn't perfect. The same flashy style that overwhelmed so many does not overwhelm someone I believe has the most skill set in the ring in a long long time.

Roys reflexes are greater than Floyds in his prime, Floyd is going to have hell trying to find Roy.

Floyd on the other hand is more defensive than elusive, and while he goes into his shoulder roll defense... it just isn't going to work.

You can shoulder roll Baldomir... but Roy Jones throwing 12 punch combinations faster than anything you've seen?

Roy didn't have a high workrate, he thought about what he did before doing it anyway.

Guys, Roy fought someone very comparable to Floyd in Toney. The reverse doesn't hold true. If anything, it would be Floyd who would be second guessing himself.

How? Even Floyd himself said it - Jones' strength lay in his legs and footwork. He was impossible to counter. Which made fighting him a ****ing nightmare. James Toney was a masterful counterpuncher (and a harder puncher than Floyd) and he landed all but about two right hands flush the full 12 rounds and both times Roy just sneered at him. Just not happening.

Roy was unbeatable in his prime, while Floyd lost once in his prime(JLC)

Roy KOed Virgil Hill who was undisputed Cruiserweight Champion for a LONG time
Roy defeat James Toney, who was P4P #1 and in his prime(Weight control is no excuse, Toney always had problems with weight control)
Roy embarrased Reggie Johnson who was a strong champion.
Roy embarrased John Ruiz who was three weight classes above him and still gave other good Heavyweights trouble due to his clinching style
Roy despite having to cut weight in such a short time was still able to defeat Antonio Tarver in their first fight.

Genaro Hernandez(Past prime I think)
Angel Manfredy(Gave Gatti problems)
Diego Corrales(Diego was KOing everybody)
Zab Judah(Zab was in his prime and gave him trouble)

Floyd never lost. your ASSumptions that he lost once are worthless. roy got ko'd by tarver. everyone started saying he's past his prime only after the fight not before. I choose Mayweather Im sure he'll know when to retire from boxing too

Actually, Toney is a great fighter himself and has a better resume than Floyd. I'm not saying he's greater but facts are facts. Floyd isn't that much greater, if at all. And Jones shut him out.
