Similar to Dempsey in the sense that SI actually conducted the "plaster of paris" experiment and found out Kerns story was untrue. As far as Resto from what I was able to catch from that thread was that Resto started the plaster of paris rumor much after the whole tampered gloves evidence.

Are you saying that the fact that Manny Steward and others didn't find any evidence of cheating proves Marg's innocence?

And there wasn't talk about 'plaster of paris' as I recall it. Rather it was preused hardened gauze containing a plasterlike susbstance.

If there is anything true about the whole hand wrap fiasco the closest thing to the truth could be the added gauze that Capetillo might have added to add more "pop" much like the way Tito's father used to wrap his hands. Could this have made a much more difference in punching power? perhaps, do I condone this? of course not and if the commissioning thought it was the right thing to suspend both Margarito and Capetillo for this, I agree.

As far as Tony knowing about it or not then I thought it was the correct punishment to suspend them for a year, but to tarnish this man's whole career by spreading lies like using "cement" "concrete block inserts" and "plaster of paris" and comparing this to Resto is downright shameful and the people who actually started all of these rumors including Brother Naz, they all should be ashamed and guilty of false accusations.

I'm not claiming Tony's innocence by saying Steward didn't noticed anything, but be real for one second, how can such tampering never had been noticed in Tony's 40+ fights he's been on? or even yet to be more objective, the 20+ fights he's been under Capetillo's belt? it's just mind boggling to think nobody in the state commissioning they were fighting under plus the other fighters corner not have noticed such tampering, I mentioned Steward because he is one of the most known and experienced trainers in the game right now, and I am highly confident that Nazeem Richardson has no weird mystical powers that can detect tampering more than any of the other trainers that have been in the opposite corner of Tony's fights.

There's a chance he didn't know and I feel he deserves a second chance. i'm a guy who dislikes Margarito in a sense that I feel his claim to fame and what has put his name out there is supposedly being ducked by a guy who has earned his place at the top of the sport. I dislike fighters who get there rep from saying oh this guy won't fight me all the while you are losing to fringe contenders and unproven fighters. I think thats ridiculous. I feel that he should have to earn a fight with Pac by proving he's still at that level in this sport against top contenders which he has not done. Margarito deserves a second chance but not against one of the leaders in the sport manny pacquiao... at least not yet.

Margarito fans get worked up when people bring up him having loaded gloves against cotto but seriously if Marg truly had no idea what was in his gloves then isnt it likely that he was "tricked" by his trainer in the past.
