It seems that Margarito did not experiment by putting powdered plaster of paris on his fists, either wetted or not. The evidence showed that the inserts were OLD, already used.

Maybe Arum can be blamed somehow for this. They should have been NEW, UNUSED.....

Also I'm glad to learn something new all the time. This time is that the inserts were "analysed" with a stereoscopic microscope. I didn't kow that this could be done. Poor me, wrong all these years. When I was a kid in med school we had stereoscopic microscopes, and they were pretty battered and ancient then, at least they had TWO integrated eyepieces. What they DID....or DO, it to give a 3 dimensional image of whatever is being inspected. I never heard that they analysed things. What they DO do, is to further inspect and help evaluate the result of an analysis.

In Margarito's case this wasn't done, instead they inspected the inserts thoroughly, (as would be done with a stereo-mick) and determined from that inspection, that is was a plaster-like item.

I keep wondering how Arum might be blamed for this. Maybe by saying (without any evidence) that it's all his fault, because he loves money.......????

ON ANOTHER POINT, the capability of sprinkled plaster if wetted turning into a hard m pad in a glove has given gread credence in view of the Dempsey-Willard fight, where Dempsey used everything from Doc Kearns "plastering" his hands before the gloves were donned, (I think he actually claimed to have done this- for sensation effects) to people producing an "assortment' of iron bars, supposedly picked up in the ring immediately after the fight.

I distinctly recall (and some of the writers may verify) that Ring Magazine conducted an experiment doing that very same thing.......It was a Flop, the plaster crumbled as soon as the fist touched anything and it was decided for ever, that Dempsey had NO PLASTER in his gloves for the Willard fight, and Doc Kearns, was, in this instance anyway, INNOCENT of all the charges.

I have been saying this for a very, very long time. A lot of people look past it.
I DON'T agree with cheating and NONE of us know if they were ever used before, but we DO KNOW that they weren't used that night. The punishment was fitting and I wouldn't have complained if they banned him for 2 years instead of just 1. But a lifetime ban for being caught with them before using them would be a little extreme (just my opinion).

Either way, I look forward to the fight. Wherever they have it. The weight isn't a problem for Margarito. He fought at 147 and was having problems making the weight after the cotto fight. I'm sure he can do it. As far as Pac, I hope he gauged this right and didn't go a little to far up in weight. The dude is little and Margarito will be the biggest guy he has ever fought that night. He will probably weigh in at around 160ish (Margarito). And I don't care what anyone says, he will hit Pac. Maybe not as much as Pac hits him, but he will.

If someone came after me with bricks I would probably be uncomfortable too. margachito is fortunate that the CSAC did not criminally charge him. Make no mistake about it, margachito is a criminal.
