The other explanation for this is what split Berto will agree to. Remember this fight was explored once several months ago and some figure$$ porbably were discussed.
It might be the case that Berto will want a big part of the pie and Cotto will not concede and can probably make the same money by having a 70/30 split against Vanes. Especially Vanes being a Top Rank fighter.

It has been known in the past that Berto has demanded a hige portion of the pie for other fights. You never know.

Bob Arum is a match maker, when he let his fighters fight outside of Top Rank he will give them opponents he knows his fighters can beat, it is laughable to see people say Cotto will do this or that against Berto but yet Cotto is "not interested" in fighting him

You honestly think Cotto is ducking Berto. What evidence from his past leads you to actually believe that. Berto? Really? Jaja. Cotto is not ducking Berto. First of all Cotto is a 154 champion and defending that title against a legit undefeated Jr. middle weight fighter is more important than facing a 147lbs fighter with no name who's asking to much money IMO.

And beside the way this is going with Cotto perhaps he is planning on a rematch against Manny, this time at full 154lbs next yr. Manny seems kin on fighting Margarito at a catch weight which i don't blame him seeing the height/size difference bet. the two. But I don't see Manny fighting Cotto at a catch weight by next yr to be justified. Hoping that if Manny/Cotto happens next yr. may it be at 154 max.
