Is it fair for a 6'3 tall man to fight a 5'6 man because they're the same weight?

Well if you guys want to go way back, you had Jess Willard vs Jack Dempsey, and the shorter guy won. Of course, there was some uncorroborated reports of loaded gloves. But the bottom line is height is not always a factor in fighting.
There were two reasons why Duran 5 7 loss quickly to Hearns at 6 2, 1) He didnt recover enough by taking a fight with hearns after a 15 round war with Hagler, 2) He stayed too erect and didnt get low to make himself a harder target against Hearns. Hearns had freakish power and PW although a strong fighter is not a Hearns power puncher.Comment

Have people forgotten the definition of "fair"?
Wow, I can't believe so many people voted "yes"
So two fighter at the same weight, one is 6'3 the other 5'6. One has an 82'+ reach the other 67'.
One of these fighters clearly has an advantage in a sport where you throw your arms out forward in attempt to hit the other person.
The natural path/tendency when throwing a punch is slightly lower than shoulder height. This is the height at which your punch is most effective. The higher you throw your punch, the less power behind it as well as a shorter reach. Throwing a punch lower than shoulder height doesn't loose you power, only reach.
Pacquio's face is right in Williams sweet spot for throwing a punch. In order for Pacquiao to hit Williams head his punch will loose some power and reach.
This is a clear advantage for Williams.Comment
