Well I speak for myself when I post so I have no idea if me and other pac fans thoughts and opinions coincide with each other.

With that said, I would actually be harder on Manny if he fought a guy like Berto because Berto has never proven himself as an elite or top tier guy. Margarito IMO beats both Bradley and Berto at 147 and definately at 154 so you can throw the "those guys are better fighters" arguement out the window.

I guess you are posting this in response to the flaming on Floyds opponent selections over the years. I have my opinion on it, but I rarely diss Floyd on the fights I disagree with. FWIW I have always given Floyd credit for his win over Mosley and have never said **** about Mosley age etc. As far as Baldomir, I have also said that fight made the most sense at the time and have also never knocked Foyd for that choice as well.

My thing is this; It's no secret that I dislike Floyd. Seeing that is the case, I don't care about his career, who he fights etc. If he were to fight Matthew Hatton, I might laughed to myself, but I won't be on here campaigning and protesting against his opponent selection for the simply fact I could give a **** about him or his career.

As far as Manny fighting the best competition, he absolutely has. No one goes out and facing the number 1 guy each and every time (this isn't a video game or something) but his resume is liter with top tier guys for the most part

at 126 he fought the #1 guy and a fighter who I have in the top 5 of alltime at that division in Barrera. He also fought the highly avoid Marquez when other champs weren't willing to so.

at 130 he fought ATG Erik Morales and Marquez for the lineal title

at 135....no lie I will give you that but Diaz was still a top 5 guy. Manny was suppose to fight Campbell vs Diaz winner but DLH came so we would never know how his career would have turned out.

at 140 he beat the #1 guy in Hatton. Hatton was clearly the man of that division and his resume etc ****ting on everyone elses at the time. The only other guy people were wanting him to face was Ortiz and looking back on things, did we really want to see that esp seeing what happened in the Maidana fight

at 147 he has fought two top 5 WW's in Cotto or Clottey all within a 6 month time frame. IMO that is pretty impressive

as far as his next opponent, I absolutely agree that Margarito is the best option. He is better than Bradley or Berto, is a bigger draw and has put in more work than both of those guys combined.

With Williams and Martinez, those guys are MW's and if they were campaigning at JMW or had a title, then we can talk. I say title because Manny is only going to JMW for a title or a shot at one, because he has stated over and over again that 154 is too much for him.

good points, but in no way is clottey a top 5 ww. David Diaz had a belt but was not a top 5 lw. but that is a small point.

Margarito in his last 2 fights was destoyed after getting caught attempting to cheat and then (i didn't see it I only read about it) from all accounts looked like crap in his last fight. He is not right now the best competition nor has he earned a shot at the 154lb title. He clearly isn't as good as the other 3 at this point, besides paul killed him.

I have no problem with you as long as manny is held to the same standard.

Bull**** manny does need us to do his numbers, thats the reason clottey did 500k less than cotto. Some of us, like me, purchased every manny fight up through clottey. That fight reeked from the time it was set up.

Manny fights paul/tim/berto or any quality non top rank guy I'm in. I will not buy marg becasue he is a cheater. If cotto2 is at 154 i'm in. Any cathweight BS and no.

Manny fans argue that manny faces the best competition always, fights for legacy not money, and does whats good for the sport. The criticize floyd for picking fights against lesser opponents for more money.

If manny does this (marg/cotto) over tim/paul/berto he is doing the same thing manny fans throw at floyd. So, now that manny is doing it, is it ok? Or, are they going to hold manny to the same standard they hold floyd.
