What we have here is a guy that is 6'2" calling out a guy 5'6" and has a 15 inch reach advantage. There is nothing wrong with wanting to fight the guy but, to be complaining about it is bitchy. I would say the same thing if PAC was calling out a guy 4'10" with a 52 inch reach. I remember Roy Jones who is 5'11" moving up in weight to fight bigger people not trying to go down and fight smaller people. Shane went up to 154. But a 6'2" guy with an 82 inch reach calling out guys 8 inches shorter with a 15 inch reach disadvantage is kind of sad! He should be calling out El Perro Angulo or Sergio Martinez at least they are closer to his size.

I've been very consistent on this. I've entertained the idea of Paul vs. Floyd at 154 or Sergio vs. Floyd at 154 as more of a "damn, Floyd would deserve all the credit in the world for that" kind of idea. That doesn't mean I want either to be fighting Mayweather, unless Mayweather goes hunting for them. Those two have no reason to be searching out Floyd or Pac unless Floyd or Pac want them.

Let's say Bernard Hopkins a couple of years ago had decided to drop down from 175 to 160 to pick on Paul Williams. That would be ludicrous and Bernard Hopkins would deserve no credit for that. Yes Hopkins could make that weight, but that doesn't mean he should be picking on smaller guys. If Pacquiao dropped down to 135 to start beating up on Katsidis he would deserve no credit, doesn't matter if he could make the weight.

Dawson is a completely different scenario. He has one fight he might drop down to 168 for because of lack of big fights at his own weight. Paul Williams isn't lacking for opponents, he has a date ready to fight for the f***ing middleweight championship, against an opponent that provides plenty of hype of excitement for the fight. If he doesn't take it, and you know he won't get Pac or Floyd, he'll end up fighting someone who doesn't provide half the publicity or give him anywhere near the credit he gets if he fights Sergio.

If you make weight, you make weight. Boxing has been that way for decades. If you move down instead of dragging people up for catch weights then you get credit.

Williams only loss came to a 5-8, WW. His height is overblown I question whether people have actually seen him fight...he RARELY uses his height.

Who said hes not taking the fight? Paul Williams and Martinez are in talks right now to fight. I dont know where you got this thing that he will fight some bum. I mean you act like hes scared of him. Hes weighing his options. Lets not act like he didnt offer Martinez 2 fights that Sergio turned down.

I wont **** on a guy for going after an 4-5 Million dollar payday. I wont do it. Fighting guys at the limit is not ***** move.

Fighters arent allowed to move down?? This is boxing. Fighters have been doing that forever.

Pacquiao moving down to 140 or 135 and fighting 135 and 140 pounders is a legit move..because hes weighing in at the limit.

The kid already has a loss at W and posters are still scared ****less of him going there.

Boxing will never have height classes. EVER. If a guy can legitimately weigh in at 3 different classes who are we to say "no he can only fight at 160". That makes no sense when he can make 147, 154 and 160.

Hate to say it but I agree with Burner. If you make weight, you make weight. But Williams needs to STFU about Pacquiao and fight Martinez. He just wants a bigger buck for the beating he's gonna receive.

I guess we disagree on this. I think a big reason Paul Williams has had such trouble landing the fights he wants is that he doesn't just stick to one division and own it. If he did so, he would make fighters have to fight him. I just don't think it's a very good move on his part to go back to welterweight, he won't get any credit and if he loses, he can kiss any chance of a big fight goodbye. Just fight Martinez, a guy he's already beat, and you have are middleweight champion of the world and hold something that will entice others to fight you.

This is the problem with boxing now. Promoters and fighters make the matchups instead of the commissions. Belts mean nothing, weight classes mean nothing.

In an ideal world, if Paul Williams could make the same weight as Pacman, then he could work his way to becoming a mandatory challenger.

Nobody cares anymore, its all about money. If they dont fancy a fight they can give up the belt and look elsewhere for bigger money

I dont remember ever saying Pacquiao would knock him out....although its certainly more likely than your scenario....which you still havent explained...
