the negotiations were between arum and haymon with greenburg as the mediator. your a ****ing dumbass if you think arum is lying about this. greenburg and haymon wouldve denied it already.

team mayweather (jr, sr, uncle, and ellerbe) keeps saying "theres no negotiations becasue, they know they dont want the pac fight and wont agree to anything and probably just kept ignoring haymon's proposals. so to them there was never any negotiations.

bottom line.. floyd is a *****, floyd sr. is a ****ing crackhead and a disgrace to the human race, and ellerbe is a ******

      2. hire Greenburg?? do you even know who he is? You don't hire the HBO Sports Executive when you're a fighter.. NO.. i think you're confused..

      3. what was in the contract doesn't matter.. what matters is whether or not Mayweather's representatives agreed to what was in the contract..which they probably did, cuz it got sent to mayweather...
Or, maybe they didn't, but they were definitely negotiating.. It's so OBVIOUS.. Bad move from Ellerbe saying there were never any negotiations.. He practically called Greenburg a liar.. you dont bite the hand that feeds you..

Greenburg is just holding his tongue cause he's still trying to make the fight..

No what really matters is Bob Arum's credibility and I say he has very little. Arum said a week ago he sent the agreement directly to Schaefer@GB who sent it over to Floyd then he came out the other night and said he NEVER dealt with Schaefer and Schaefer's name was NEVER bought up during the so-called negotiations now what does that tell you? Greenburg will come out and say he never negotiated with Team Mayweather he was just trying to keep the dialogue open or some BS like that because Ellerbe was too adamant to be lying.

As I see it, Greenburg and Arum are on the same page.. Both are on record saying negotiations are taking place.. Schaefer and DLH both say there was a gag order.. Now, all these comments point to the fact that negotiations did take place...
And now, Ellerbe comes out and says there were "no negotiations"..?? It's like he said "NO!! Everyone's LYING!!!" Weeks After he heard the lie.. its just ******...

Arum never dealt with Schaefer DIRECTLY.. Because they do everything through Greenburg.. Schaefer's name doesnt need to be brought up in the negotiations.. He isnt fighting Pacquiao.. and there's Haymon to represent Floyd..
At the start of all this, Greenburg said they were gonna start negotiating, but they were gonna keep it quiet.. I would agree with you that Arum has little credibility, but i would disagree if you said the same for Greenburg.. The man has no reason to lie about this..

After reading Kevin's blog on yahoo it seems Greenburg is throwing Arum's ass under the bus because it was written as if Greenburg were saying there was never any negotiation between he and Team Mayweather so I think you better do a little researching before you jump on Bob's bandwagon.

                      How stubborn can you be?

OBVIOUSLY, negotiations did take place so Ellerbe, stepping away from his Floyd balls-scrubbing duties, tried to save his master's public image which was being destroyed by publicly lying and saying no talks had occurred. YET GREENBURG HIMSELF SAID HE IMPOSED A GAG ORDER AND ALL SIDES WERE TRYING TO GET 'IT' DONE. maybe 'it' was an order for dominos pizza and all sides couldn't agree on toppings, but I'm guessing he meant the fight...

                      AGAIN...

For all the clowns questioning why Greenburg would be the intermediary... who else besides the fighters and promoters has a bigger financial stake in the fight happening? HBO aka Greenburg would be the ones financing the thing, organizing the PPV, producing 24/7, etc. Greenburg/HBO could care less who is the bigger draw, what the terms are, who's scared of who... they only care about the financial windfall that would come as a result. Greenburg as the intermediary is ideal because he is neutral, he only favors $.

Oh, and he was heavily involved in the talks of the first failed negotiations...

"Again, we find ourselves in the scenario where we have to have a little bit of luck and both those fighters have to win," said Greenburg, who’s been at HBO since 1978.

This past winter, he was front and center for the collapse of what could have been the biggest fight in boxing. It was a present the television veteran wasn’t expecting.

"It ruined my Christmas vacation, to be honest with you." Greenburg said. "I was on the phone probably four or five hours a day trying to make it happen.
"The fact is that one camp, Pacquiao, wanted 24 days of blood [testing] before the fight, and the other camp wanted 14, and they could never come to a resolution."

                      ...

"We have to find a way as a group, managers, promoters, the fighters themselves, to make that deal happen," Greenburg concluded. "It’s just a must for boxing fans, and the sport itself."
And this is where I checkmate any idiot gullible enough to believe that no negotiations took place this time around. Straight from the horse's mouth...

If the fight the world wants to see - Manny Pacquiao against Floyd Mayweather Jr. - is going to be made, the deal must get done quietly without a lot of posturing in the media. HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg seems determined to make that happen.

But since he has asked the principals, promoters Bob Arum and Richard Schaefer, to remain quiet, Greenburg is reluctant to go into any detail about the status of negotiations for a bout that likely would take place on Nov. 13, the date reserved for Pacquiao's next fight.

"I can't talk about it," Greenburg told Newsday. "I'm right in the middle of shutting everyone down. We have to do it quietly. This cannot get into the papers. If it gets in the papers, all of a sudden, it takes on a life of its own like it did in December and January, and it becomes very difficult to make the fight. We all kind of shook hands and said, 'Let's keep quiet and do it out of the press and get it done.'

"We're going to try to make it happen. That's all I can say."
