Nothing wrong in pitting your fighters against each other but at least allow them to fight other threats from other promotional companies as well, Its crazy how boxing is been run at the moment but since the promoters send a lot of their own money building up their fighters its difficult to blame them too much.

What does it say about Shaw's promotional skills when the supposed best 140-lber in the world can only get fights at Indian Casinos w/ 2,000 people (w/ empty seats)... meanwhile Arum, who's promoted the likes of Ali, Leonard, Hagler, Mayweather, De La Hoya, Pacquiao- gets his fighters into packed football and baseball stadiums, major hotel/casinos, and blockbuster PPV fights.

Would anyone pay $50-$60 to watch Tim Bradley fight anyone not named Pacquiao or Mayweather? If you're sitting on that kind of talent and you can only get them half-assed arenas and mediocre fights and the public at large has no idea who you're fighters are... then you aren't that great of a promoter.

Shaw needs to stop trying to piggyback on other promoters hard work and actually, you know, promote his fighters. If Bradley wants the big fights, he should sign up with Top Rank or GBP and move from 2,000 seat Agua Caliente Casino to 50,000 seat Dallas Cowboys Stadium or the MGM Grand.

          Just a thought.

I agree 100%. It's easy to paint top rank and gbp as the bad guys but how about shaw just STFU and actually do his job of promoting his fighters. I mean none of his fighters outside maybe Darchinyan can draw crowds for ****, so what does that say about him as a promoter. Instead of calling other promoters scared, why don't you build up your guys to make a fight with a Mayweather or Pacquiao worth while. The ball is in your corner Shaw so quit trying to piggyback off other promoters hard work. What I see is Shaw is very lazy and wants all the rewards without doing any hard work.

I mean Shaw can cry HBO is at fault all he wants but that still doesn't change the fact that Top Rank has put in the work to establish relationships with Foxsports net to get their fighters on regular TV, and the fact that Arum takes huge risk, using money outta his own pockets with those independent ppv's.

Last but not least, Top Rank does a better job promoting their untelevised fighters via Top Rank hosted free streams. So guys like GBP and Top Rank are putting in a ton of work while these other guys sit on their ass and wait for opportunities. Shaw just needs to man the **** up and actually do his job and quit crying.

Honestly I think Bradley is one helluva fighter, and regardless of what happened last night, has an exciting style. It's a shame that he is being promoted as poorly as he has been. Hell Yuri Foreman was able to get on Jimmel Kimmel Live, and did various guest appearances leading up to his fight with Cotto.

How many people were lining up to see Pac when he was 26?

                  You guys have short memories.

Before Delahoya, how many sucessful fights did Pac have against guys not named Morales/Barrera/Marquez? Zip. Zero. Nada. None.

Now, that's not a criticism of Pac - it's the nature of the game. Fans don't know a guy until he fights or beats THE guy. A bigger star. You need the exposure to get into the public consciousness. That's how Floyd, Oscar, Bernard, and Pac became stars.

It's easy - once you get to the top - to say "Oh, I need to fight only big stars. Nobody knows that guy". But you are forgetting that somebody gave YOU a shot.

Arum is a hypocrite. He is saying that he doesn't want to carry a lesser-known fighter. But he wanted Mayweather to fight Margarito when Tony was an unknown guy fighting in half-empty rooms at the Aladdin. Tony couldn't even get on HBO. WAS IT OK FOR FLOYD TO SAY "MARGARITO IS NOT A BIG ENOUGH NAME?"

...because that is what Pacquiao is doing now.

How many big-time TV appearances did Foreman have before his name was associated with Cotto?

the way to market these fighters is to give them home town fights over and over and hope to build a local following. Guys like Dirrell and Ward are making fights in their hometown and people are starting to know them.
