Nice Av. Uzelkov and Shumenov fight in a couple weeks i believe. I'm suspecting Uzelkov will KO him unless Shumenov has drastically improved his defense. Uzelkov's D is pretty tight, should be a war while it lasts.

Uzelkov-Shumenov will be on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights next week, July 23. It's one I'm eagerly anticipating.

I thought Ishe looked better than I've ever seen him (I actually watched him on The Contender), however, he doesn't win the judges over with his attitute and hissy fits. Did you catch his tyraid at the ref after the knockdown? He was all up in the refs face yelling "Bull****!!! It was a knockdown!!". He plays the "victim" so much he didn't even realize that the ref had done an 8 count. His own corner was yelling at Ishe to calm down, that it had been counted as a knockdown. Another clear hissy fit earlier when the ref stopped to warn Ishe about bringing his punches up, and Ishe clearly pushed back at the ref twice when he was pushing Ishe back after the breaks. Unfortunately, it's these kind of displays and his 'ever the victim' role that he ends up not doing himself any favors.

I guarantee most other prospects would've folded against the Smith we saw tonight, not only a reinvigorated, punch throwing version, but allowed to land repeated hip shots where he occasionally picked up their trunks.

This fight told me that Guerrero has a lot of heart, toughness, and stamina for days. He wouldn't have been as tired as he was, if it weren't because of the low blows and he still outthrew Ishe. 2-6 were clear Guerrero rounds with 7-8 were the only clear Smith rounds with the 1st, 9th, and 10th being able to go either way.

This gift and robbery **** is absurd.
I agree with this completely. I thought the ref was overly generous (to Ishe) to the extent that he even stopped the fight to argue with Guerreros promoter that some of the blows were hitting off of Fernandos forearm (defending Ishe). I was thinking that had Guerrero been an older fighter, those hip shots could have really affected him (remember how Nate Campbell was affected in his last fight). Although I did think Ishe looked better than I've seen him (maybe ever), if even he went back and rewatched this fight he could see that the ref was more than generous on several occasions.

i had it 96-94 ishe but a draw was acceptable but as usual boxing judges ruin a good fight. its hard enough for fights to happen with the politics but corrupt judges & promoters make sure the 0 dont go for marketing reasons...this sport continues to shoot itself in the foot....the old sayinbg is you got to get aknockout to get a draw.

I had 95-93 Smith, I mean come on, even on ESPN cards we shouldn't be getting 97-91 in the opposite direction and people just accepting it.

It was a very good spirited fight,I absolutely loved Smith's body punching all tyhroughout the fight.
I like Guerrero but I was somewhat not impressed eith him,he started slowly but then got into a rythm and kept his workrate up but after the knockdown he let Smith get back in it aswell. He seemed to not keep the pace as high in the last few rounds.
I don't really trust his skills at this point, and really a highly touted propect like him should decisevely beat a fringe contender/gatekeeper like Smith if he is really the real deal.
                I had it 95-93 Smith.Good fight,iffy decision.

The true power shots throughout the night were landed by Guerrero. Ishe's face looked like hamburger after the fight.

Ishe starched Guerrero with at least 13-15 low blows. If you think that does not take as toll on a fighter in a 10 round bout than you have never been in a ring and been starched.

Guerrero was knocked down but he was off balance and was never rally hurt.

The referee did a terrible job. But, oddly he did a good job for Ishe. All of you bitching about Ishe's loss should thank the ref for making it closer than it should have been.

                      3 G
                      4 G
                      5 G
                      6 G
                      7 S
                      8 S
                      9 Toss
                      10 Toss

So if I give 2 of the tosses to Smith just to please the Smith faction and deduct the point from Smith for the low blowsssss and Guerrero for the KD it is...

                      95-93 Guerrero

I had it 96-92 Guerrero myself giving Guerrero 1 and 10.
