Arum has gone out of his way to make it clear to the public that he will cease negotiations with Mayweather when the deadline has expired.
At first I did not take Arums "deadline" seriously at all, in fact I pictured Mayweather rocking up 2-3 weeks later to nail the final points and then sign.
But no, Arum will stick to this deadline, I am sure of it.
We will need to wait for a press release from Team Mayweather until we can reasonably determine whether there will be a third round of negotiations early next year.Comment

No, boxing will always be more popular than MMA, because MMA is a **** product when compared to boxing. MMA is mainly for young/drunk people, who just wanna see a fight..... not for people who understand the various style match-ups that the sweet science brings. This kind of **** is what kills boxing. If it was MMA, fight made instantly. Done deal. Boxing, too much politics, to much bs involved. Boxing kills itself. I think the fact that this fight isn't going/cannot be made is the reason less people want to watch it overall. The politics involved always turned people away and this has to be the worst time ever. MMA will take over when a fight like this never happens and every fight people want in MMA does happen.
Boxing is a sport that is steeped in history, and has many great fighters that will be remembered forever..... hardly anybody in my country has ever heard of GSP or Lesnar.
Boxing will survive, and could even flourish. It just needs more central control. It is constantly abused by promoters/abc bodies/television networks, there needs to be a central authority.Comment

I don't think that Floyd will be getting a call.
Didn't the article say that after the deadline, Arum will make a conference call?
The conference call is to publicly announce that there will be no Mayweather fight, and maybe it will give us an indication as to Manny's next opponent?
Or maybe I mis-read?
That is what I assumed anyway, after reading that article.Comment

So, Floyd's silence means team Pac never wanted to or will fight him (Floyd)?
