Why would they waste money on a Klitschko fight when nobody wants to watch them? 151,000 watched the Wlad-Chagaev that's not great numbers now is it?

It's because it wasn't advertised and there was two weeks from when it was supposed to be on HBO to when it went to ESPN you twat. How many people watched it in Germany, Ukraine, Russia, and the rest of Europe and the world? Conservative estimate, probably around 40 million, you had 14 million in Germany alone.

Oh and out of the 60,000 people who bought tickets for the original fight between Wladimir the King ***** Gaye, only SIX returned tickets after Gaye bitched out and pulled his vagina muscle. I guess we know who people were there to see, and it wasn't Diva "The Vagina" Gaye.

I get HBO mostly for the boxing since all their good oridginal programing has faded (deadwood , six feet under ) and love to watch the brothers , damn HBO for such a boneheaded decision ! It's not their fault that they've beaten the HW devision to death . Bring back lennox lewis , hell he can still beat 90% of everything out there besides the brothers and he had made some pretty curt remarks about the brothers before HBO finally fired his uuhhh boring ass .

Yep, Showtime has surpassed them in terms of quality fights with the Super Six. They tried to push Arreola down our throats but they won't show the Klistchkos? I think I am going to cancel HBO after this ****...

You can look those up yourself, are you doubting the 14 million figure, the 60,000 figure, or the number of returned tickets?

You quoted me out of context. The quote you referred to was about why HBO wont show Wlad-Povetkin.

Haye is obviously a bigger name and has a bigger appeal. Adamek is fighting out of the states and has a fairly big following. This is in contrast to Povetkin who few people know despite him being an olympic champion and arguably more qualified to share the ring with Wlad than any of the others.

See the point is that Povetkins pedigree means little so the fight means little (from HBO's point of view). I'm arguing that this fight would have made HBO IF there was a yank waiting in the wings but since there isn't we're looking at the first time, to my knowledge, that HBO does not show a fight between a linear champion and a qualified, undefeated olympic gold medalist.

Those are the real reasons: HBO wants to show the Klits against the big names and the fighters who have a big following.

Having an American waiting in the wings has zero to do with it and it is irrelevant to this discussion.
