One more thing about MMA. Fighters are forced to fight the next challenge whereas in boxing guys can duck and dodge fighters their whole career. An example of this would be Floyd Mayweather.

its not always boxer vs boxer. boxer vs brawler------boxer vs counter puncher------etc

what you dont get it that you have tp pad a fighters career to a certain point so that his skill level can get to its highest potential. increase the volume like a crescendo.

fernando vargas is a great example. didnt turn out well at all because they had him fighting for titles at 14-0. vargas could have been so much better if they brought him up right.

so always fighting the "best" ala your standard of what mma is doesnt make much sense because how can you be at your best if you get brought along too quickly?

Hank Armstrong started his career 1-3.

Half of Couture's losses came after the age of 40.

so did a few of his wins, you know what you call a boxer who starts 10-5? bum.

Not that it matters, we all know that UFC is scripted.

and that other half was to mostly bums minus barnett. and yeah overeem is a bum. 28-25 is a bum imo.

and his big wins were against belfort and randallman pre40. not impressive.

MMA is more about entertainment than actual skill, Chuck Lidell is an explosive knockout artist but his stance is sloppy and low.
