Cotto/Jennings was also paired up with Pavlik/Rubio, so that PPV had TWO marque names, albeit two tune ups. If it was JUST cotto/Jennings you wouldn't have got those numbers.

Further we're talkin about old Mosley not in their prime cotto/pavlik.

Oh I certainly understand their mentality, I just don't agree with it. I don't think it's good for boxing.
The Hopkins fight wouldn't have done good numbers with any undercard.

Of course a big part of Cotto/Jennings doing good numbers was the Pavlik thing. But that just strengthens the point....two Marquee names that need to get paid were only shown on TV cause Arum put it on a PPV. Otherwise there would have been no way to put that card together.

And the mentality thing...that's an idealist mentality. It's just not realistic. To get these guys the money they need to fight and to televise it, this is the only way to do it, and that's why they do it.

Its a good post Duhflavor, but speaking of Mosley, I would never pay to see him again.

He's beyond shot imo and a Mora fight does absolutely nothing for me. He must really need the money if he's gonna keep fighting.

Savo is a 100% right in this thread. Great thread bro....

I like independent PPV's, honestly is not only keeping your fighters active when you can't get them TV dates but it gives them exposure, and last but not least us fans have a chance to see them....

Plus it is one thing putting PPV's with HBO money but it is really hard to put it takes real promotes to spend money OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKETS to give us fans what they want. And, do right for their fighters. Is nothing wrong with that...

Savo, fightfan DC, Walt and Eaner are absolutely right.

Mosely could indeed be fighting for way less than 500K. Considering he's a GB partner and he was part of a huge PPV card he may make off with more considering, but it's possible.

Malignaggi made like 1.6 million for the Hatton fight, and I think just under 10gs in his next fight. There's no grey area in boxing, you're either getting paid or you aren't.

                      I agree.

I think GBP do the worse "do it yourself" PPV's thou.

TOP RANK PPV's are a lot better in the sense of production value etc.

King Vision hardly seem to be doing any PPV these days.

I hope the Mosley fight is on HBO PPV.
