Hell, forget about Clottey. Here's a better example. David Diaz. Fight didn't even do 200,000 buys.

Mayweather only fights popular fighters. Pac fights and takes on challenges. Clearly Clottey who just came off a loss was a bigger challenge over the undefeated unexposed Tim Bradley who hasn't been on HBO as much...... lol

also did Clottey win in those "bigger" fights?

That was before Pac really crossed over with the Oscar fight, pretty irrelevant info

You don't remember the last time you paid Pac a $10 million guarantee, Bob? Well, I do.

It was November, 2009 for the Cotto fight. Pac got a base purse of $7.5 million for that fight.

            EIGHT MONTHS AGO.

@Vito... You are referring to a base purse but everyone knew it would go way higher. Pacman's purse for the Cotto fight ended up being $22 million. So, even though the base was only $7.5, Pacman accepted because they knew it would go beyond $10 million and it went all they way up to $22 million. So, was Bob Arum lying? Well, strictly speaking, yes he was but I think most people knew what he was trying to say that Pacman will always get way more than $10 million a fight...

@Vito, also you are misquoting that Pacman turned down a 14 day cut-off. Pacman's negotiating team said "We are done, we are going elsewhere" and were already walking out when Floyd threw out the 14 day cutoff. He never turned it down because it was never negotiated....

It is just easier for Arum to set all the advantages for Manny against his other fighters than it is for him to do that against another fighter who is not promoted by him.
Man Clottey has fought, Baldo, Cotto, Judah, Corales, and Margarito....dont tell me Bradley is more known ...lol.. I laff.

I thought Pacquiao's guarantee for the Clottey fight was at least 12 million. And from what I remember he was certainly guaranteed over 10 mil in the Cotto fight.
