not about which size glove hits harder...it's the fact that your guard is not as effective because punches that normally get blocked are suddenly getting through even though your guard is perfect. you have no idea what the **** hit you.

In both you have to think while being under attack and worry about opening yourself up and being countered.
There are literally hundreds of types of submissions. It doesn't take rocket science to use rear naked choke when you are behind an opponent. Or using a triangle choke when you grab your opponent in between your butt cheeks.

        really ignorant post.

it doesnt take rocket science to throw a left hook or a right cross....and yet it takes years of experience to learn to apply it effectively because your opponent will be blocking, ducking, bobbing, weaving.

Dou Bella gave a crap argument. He needs to watch 3 or 4 shows and then he would have come backs of boring floor laying ****.

Boxing will never die, there's so much money in it.

Yes you only use you hands, but MMA has a lot of hugging and **** that is boring.

Rogan acts like MMA is always all out action, which it is not. Neither is boxing either though.

Im not going to get into a pissing contest about the finer points of either sport. I favor boxing but enjoy both sports and have trained in both. It doesn't take rocket science to hook off the jab either, does it? The point is that in either sport you have to be able to think while under attack and be prepared to have your own punches or moves countered. You're using two examples, but you're leaving out the part where the wrong placement of a foot or hand, or being just a bit off balance can cause you to fall into a submission yourself. If you think its easy I encourage you to find an MMA gym and give it a try. You will be surprised at how much more difficult it is than you think.

Do you even know what the **** your talking about? Because no one else does.
Obviously it takes years of experience and hours of training to be an elite boxers. You can't just take a bum off the streets and turn 'em into an MMA icon like you do in UFC.

For your information, I have friends that train in a local gym here in Bay Area, Ca. I spar with them, and give 'em **** all the time on how it's so much easier to be succesful in MMA than it is in Boxing.
We're prolly not ever going to make it in the pros, but i'd much rather get beaten thoroughly in Boxing match, than get hit by a lucky punch or taken to ground and get submitted.

                  Screw Joe Rogan.

According to the December 2001 issue of the Journal of Combative Sport, as of November 2001, 1101 fighters have died in a boxing ring.

No one has died in the UFC. Boxing is far more hazardous because of the heavy padded gloves

No one has ever died in the UFC, the deaths in boxing more likely occur because of the standing 8 count.

Continually recieving blows to the head is a good way to recieve a brain injury.
No one in the UFC, but three men have died in MMA. Sam Vasquez in 2007, Douglas Dedge in 1998, and a 35 year old man only identified as Lee in South Korea in 2005.

How so? Do you have a stat or something that confirms this, or is it just an opinion you cannot back up with solid proof?

Good luck to you and your friends. I wish the best for anyone participating in any combat sport no matter what level they're at. But your argument was that it doesn't take "rocket science" to submit someone. My argument is it is just as difficult (maybe even more so) to master these submissions and their counters as it is to become prolific at the finer points of boxing. I've provided examples and reasoning why. You've said any bum of the street could succeed in MMA yet give no logical reasons.

I'm sure there is a sweet science and requires a lot of training to be successful in MMA also. Don't mind the hate, i have more bad experiences losing in MMA matches than when I Box
