yeah thanks for clearing that up. So when Manny requested the same gloves he's worn his entire career he was clearly out of line.

who ever said he was out of line? the point is all things have to be negotiated. and if he wore them his ENTIRE career why did he say the gloves caused him to lose to eric? dont try to put words on top of mine. i never said anything negative about those men tring to get what they feel they should. you on the other hand want to say shame on floyd for asking for ost. they can sak for whatever thet want. thats the reason to sit down before each fight. get it now?

The way the mayweather camp went about tarnishing Mannys career and legacy to the media and spewing baseless allegations about PEDS or bulletproof drugs was ridiculous. And still, Pacquiao did agree to give urine everyday.. to do OST, just not on Floyds terms... Just didn't want to give blood too close to the fight because he felt it could affect him physically or mentally. Level playing field right?

For the bold, and i've made polls about this, nothing tarnished Pacquiao's legacy more then his unwillingness to take these random OST, and that is the key word there. Pacquiao didn't refuse to do the testing by Mayweather's terms, but the USADA terms for effective testing, and he still wants a 14 day window.

Fact is, Pacquiao's legacy wouldn't be under question if had gone at the OST like he did against his opponents in the ring, straight at it without hesitation. Pac should have said "Bring it on i'm clean" and no one would have doubted him legacy.

Did you see the Mayorga/Mosley fight. Mosley did not look too great against a past prime Mayorga. He Ko'd Mayorga in the final round.

and wt penalties are not a part of every contract. thats why some fights have to have more negotiations if one fighter is over wt and there is no stipulation to handle that issue.

But after Friday's weigh-in, Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer finally addressed the issue, telling ESPN.com, "The fight was contracted as a welterweight fight with an agreed upon weight of 144 pounds. However, there were pre-negotiated weight penalties built in."

Schaefer would not disclose the dollar figure, but another source with direct knowledge of the contract told ESPN.com that the penalty was $300,000 per pound if either fighter was overweight.

According to the source, the Marquez camp knew Wednesday night that Mayweather would not make weight because Mayweather's team made overtures to Golden Boy Promotions in an effort to have Marquez agree to change weight on the bout agreements to be filed with the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

However, Marquez's contract had already been filed reading 144 pounds, according to commission executive director Keith Kizer. But Kizer said the bout agreement was retrieved from the commission by Golden Boy Promotions and changed to 147 with Marquez initialing it.

Mayweather's contract with 147 pounds was not filed with the commission until minutes before the weigh-in. Kizer said it was supposed to be filed on Wednesday.

Kizer said the Mayweather camp asked to file it Thursday and he said OK, but that deadline also came and went.

"We were very unhappy with the lateness of Mr. Mayweather's contract," Kizer said.

Kizer said that had the bout agreements not been changed to 147, Mayweather would have faced a fine from the commission in addition to whatever penalty he had agreed to pay Marquez. For being two pounds overweight, Kizer said the penalty would have been 10 percent of his purse, or $1 million. Had he been three pounds over (147 pounds), the figure would have jumped to a 20 percent fine.

Fine, but that doesn't change that Pacquiao rejected Mayweathers demand, whereas Mayweather didn't reject Pacquiao's, you are right that the weight penaltyshould be a non-issue, so should improved drug testing, removing cheating should be a non-issue.

What Roach means that Pacquiao will agree to everything Floyd is he means everything Floyd wanted for the March 13th fight. Which was 50-50, which was actually what Pacquiao asked for and Mayweather agreed to it, OST until 14 days, and that's it.

Roach doesn't mean Pacquiao will agree to the 60-40, OST randomly until the USADA decides to stop, which they decided to stop 18 days before the Mayweather-Mosley fight because they felt there was no indication the fighters were up to something but they were comfortable knowing they can still randomly test them any day up to the fight which that's the whole point of random testing.

So anyone getting all happy about this and start claiming "Hahaha now what Floyd is scared and all his demands are met lulz" don't get your hopes up. This was just Roach, who has nothing to do with negotiations, talking out of his ass again.

Bully tactics don't work with someone who has as much pull/star power as you do. But now compromises are coming and maybe Manny wants to clear his name? Though I do wish for full implementation into the sport with testing throught the year 24/7.

haha, do you even know what happened about the glove situation with Morales in teh 1st fight? find that answer first


and, arguing about this is dumb. 1st you said Manny "demanded" 8oz gloves, and mayweather bowed in. Thats clearly not the case at all since floyd always wore 8oz gloves.

The point is, IF floyd requested 10oz gloves in the first place then clearly he was being a little girl in negotiations since he never wore 10oz gloves except for 1 fight, and HE COMPLAINED about them. so why request them if he doesnt prefer them? just because Manny didnt want them? . You see this as floyd not getting what he wants and that concerns you more than anything.

yes but it wasn't over the 147 limit, for Marquez & Mosley he came in at 146. He tried to make weight, couldn't so he paid the price, but it wasn't 20,000,000. & they say Mayweather's all about $$$.
