try to get another fight with Mickey Ward instead
haha thats funny im a gatti fan the moment this fight started i knew it was over the moment the bell rang. total mismatch even if gatti tried to rough mayweather up he was already swelling up in his eyes while walking to the ring. gatti cant beat mayweather plain and simple it was a horrible fight and just a total mismatch. Actually it was a good fight if you were a mayweather fan but overall not worth 50 bucks. gatti refused to throw punches or put his hands up it was as if he just stood there and let him hit him it was ridiculous.

Pressure, pressure, pressure. He should have used the Gene Fullmer approach and stayed on top of Mayweather the entire time, trying to rough him up. It probably wouldn't have made any differene in the end, but that was his ONLY shot to beat Mayweather.

I wouldn't have been in there with him. gatti should have ducked Mayweather like the Klitchko's ducking an opponent that was not hand picked.

He should have gone all out since the start of the fight. Give him everything to try and scare mayweather. Keep the pressure all night long and forget about trying to box.

This is absolutley correct. The only hope of a chance gatti had was to use roughhouse tactics. He needed to come out and throw Floyd against the ringpost and wail away on him like Duran did to leonard the first time out. He needed to use the other veteran tactics as well. WHen you clinch hit the guy on the thigh on the opposite side from the referee (So that you dont get DQ'd). and he also needed to use Rocky Lockridges strategy when he fought Mayweather Sr. He said he couldn't hit him cause he was so fast so he just tried to hit anything. and guess what? He actually caught him on the chin when he was trying to move and put him out shortly after. You have to let your hands go when a guy is that much faster than you. (Check Glencoffe vs Jones) You will eventually hit them somewhere. (augustus vs Mayweather and Castillo vs Mayweather pt 1)

Given up the belt, moved to welterweight, and taken on Mosley for bigger money.

Why give it up? The WBC is home of Vitali Klitchko. If he doesn't have to fight contenders why should Gatti?

No no no no,, Remember its an injury. He had one of his spinal disc removed and it wont heal until rahman retires or James Toney is banned from boxing. On top of that he got leprosy which isnt curable until Oleg Maskaev signs to fight.

Great points, that is exactly what Gatti SHOULD have tried to do, I think it's clear that Gatti has lost that warrior's mentality, and really by no fault of his own, Gatti's wealthy now and doesn't have the hunger to win the big fights, I think it was Marvelous Marvin that said that it's "hard to get up early in the morning and do road work when you're wearing silk pajamas"....Gatti's a rich man and has no reason to go to war with a world-class fighter when there's a Ferrari in the driveway and no mortgage payment....did you see the Countdown show on HBO? Did you hear what Gatti's motivation was vs. Wilson Rodriguez? Gatti had just ordered a car and needed to pay for it still, so that's why he fought thru the swollen eye, pretty sad if you ask me, but it was a classic nonetheless and it was one of the reasons why Gatti got $3mil+ to sell his belt to a superior fighter on the 25th, becuase of the chance that maybe the unexpected would occur, but obviously Floyd ain't no Wilson Rodriguez!

good point, but even the WBC will cave in sooner than later, Floyd had been #1 contender for over a year
