Oh sure........when you have one guy slaughter the other from start to finish......punishing him while taking not a single worthwhile punch in return....there will be a huge demand for a rematch.

Lots of questions still need to be answered.....

Can Floyd actually kill Gatti in there ? Just how much would Gatti get hit if both eyes were completely closed ? Could Floyd injure his hands if he had more rounds to land numerous shots ?

It was a mixture of things that went wrong for Gatti - first one being trying to make weight at 140 for the past 4 years probably got to him, I could tell as soon as his robe came off he didnt look in good, cut shape.

Also for most of the first round Gatti was sticking to the game plan, getting inside and going to the body, (where floyd would then hold and push down on the back of Gatti's head) which then came the knockdown, which was in part most of the ref's fault and some fault to Gatti too b/c u are supposed to protect urself at all times, but the ref stepped in to break up the fighters and then, didnt! After that Gatti got pissed and just started head hunting and by the end of the 2nd round his eyes were swelling shut and from that point on couldnt see the punches coming.

This is isnt an excuse its what happened, im not sayin if all that didnt happen Gatti would have won, blah, blah but he would have fought a better fight, Gatti can take shots but he also gives out just as much as he could take, even to a better boxer, (look at the De La Hoya fight). Whatever lets tear some **** up at 147 Thunder, PEACE!

Gatti has always had trouble making 140 that is known and never was considered a big deal for any of his fights after it was apparent he struggled for every fight.

If Gatti could have pushed him against the ropes and got inside like he did against Ward and a lot of other fighters than possibly so but he didnt even attempt to come in. I guess that shows though what level Mayweather and Gatti are on.

Perhaps it wasnt what Gatti was doing wrong, but what Mayweather was doing right?

No arguments from this side of the table, I always though Gatti lost his prime years ago. Gatti has never beaten a legit top 10 guy in any fight.

He should have not signed the contract. That would have been the best way for Gatti to not get his ass kicked.

I have a great deal of respect for Gatti..a true warrior. However..at no point in his career could he have beaten a fighter of Mayweather's caliber.

In order to go out and rough him up he would have to catch him, to be honest I don't think he could have done that, he looked like he did abandon the origional plan though, because he started head hunting instead of going to the body, nobody is trying to make out Gatti is top class at the weight, he's an entertainer and a warrior, however one think he does do with the very best of them is target the body, he just lost the plot in there. This wouldn't have changed the fight but it would have been a sounder game plan.

One thing puzzles me though, there are alot of people making out that Mayweather, if he hadn't before, has reached new heights and he is simply unbeatable....why now? Gatti has never been top class - the guys a legend for his heart and value but not his boxing skills. I don't see how the result was ever in doubt.
