Bob Arum likes to have his boxers fight each other

So Pacquiao fought Top Rank boxers Cotto and Clottey in his past two, and is rumored to be fighting Margarito next.

Cotto has fought Top Rank boxers Clottey, Pacquiao, and Foreman in his last three.

Duddy just fought Chavez, and last night Arum said he'll likely fight Foreman next, and said Chavez may fight Cotto next...

Personally, I'd sooner see Paul Williams, Floyd Mayweather, Sergiy Dzinziruk or Sergio Martinez take on some of the Top Rank fighters. I'm getting bored with Bob Arum's merry-go-round.

Does Bob Arum have his boxers fight each other so he doesn't need to share the revenue with another promoter?

Golden boy does the same thing. Make no mistake the promoters make more money by keeping everything "In House". Of course when the promoters benefit the fans lose.

Yes.. If it makes money it makes sense.

Arum makes more money keeping his figthers in-house. He don't want any of that $$$ going to his competitors (GBP)

And yes, GBP does the same thing. Name me the past 4 opponents Floyd has faught?

Are you going to make a thread about Golden Boy doing the same thing? Or are you just going to single out one promotional company?

All promoters do it to a certain degree.

But Arum actually prevents big fights the fans want to see and instead makes less interesting fights between his own boxers.

Shaeffer of Golden Boy is probably the second worst for it, followed by Peter Kohl of Universum and Don King.

Bob is a smart man to keep Manny away from Floyd.

I coulda swore I saw pacman on interviews saying he wants to fight floyd and bob arum talking about trying to negotiate and get the fight done. I also think I saw a video of floyd talkin about taking a 1 or 2 year break.. lol.

How did you come to your conclusion?

Floyd says Bob Arum has been the barrier to his fighting Cotto and others.

I think both Floyd and Manny want the fight, but Arum's greed may prevent it from ever happening.
