good explanation for Manny's extreme increase in volume

The TS is dumb as a turnip.I didn't go through this ******ed thread, but hopefully someone mentioned that Margarito set the compubox record for most punches thrown against Clottey.
It's no coincidence Clottey is at the tail end of these massive punches thrown statistics. He covers up and doesn't do **** for 2/3 of the round if not more!Comment

Again I will concede that Clottey gave him the ability to throw more punches than usual. I guess at the end of the day you either think Wow what a performance! or wow what a performance? I was hoping someone woul pull out some pac numbers of old where he threw around 1000 punches in a fight or avg 90 per round. Its just hard for me to believe without questioning. Trust me I want to think Manny is clean just since the Diaz fight the guy I have been scratching my head like wow, really....Comment

You bastard, if you start an argument or a topic, you better use the damn boxrec to put out all the stats. Or else I will have to go to silicone walley, extract the google server and smack you with it.Again I will concede that Clottey gave him the ability to throw more punches than usual. Hmmm maybe you are right maybe I am wrong that as why I posted this. I was hoping to get something other than Clottey was a punching bag but maybe Manny was in the zone, threw lot of pitty pat jabs that padded his numbers and Clottey was there to catch all night.Comment

It's because of styles. When you have an opponent who stands in the middle of the ring with his guard up and not throwing any counters, it's easy to throw constant punches. It's also good to do strategically, since all you can hit are gloves, arms, and elbows. Eventually some clean shots will get through just by sheer volume of punches being thrown. Pac wouldn't throw as much if Clottey actually threw back. Clottey fought with about 95% defense and 5% offense.
Pac only threw about 600 against Marquez in there second fight, because every time he threw, Marquez answered back. It's not rocket science.
BTW, the was a good, but not great performance by Pac. Not totally his fault, but he did what he had to win.Last edited by Swag Hustla; 06-24-2010, 07:12 PM.Comment

you accept the diaz numbers but not clotteys? pac threw over 800 in 9rds against diaz who was a lot more active than clottey. simple math, give 3more rds to diaz and pac wouldve reached over a 1000. factor in diaz was fading and pac still looked fresh and busy by round9.Again I will concede that Clottey gave him the ability to throw more punches than usual.
