Good fight for Shane. Big name and nice payday. If he wins, then he proves he's still relevant. A loss will send him off into the sunset. Can't ask for more at this stage in his career.

Why would Martinez ask for a catchweight against Mosley?

I have Martinez winning the fight at 154 and above, btw...

Shane should fight once more and go out with a win. This ain't the one.

I was thinking about that. I meant to say Robinson. But I don't think he won a LW belt either. Maybe it was just Duran and Hoya. Maybe a old timer did it to.

Not a great style match up for Shane at this point... But, it is without a doubt his best opportunity for not only monetery purposes but achievement potential as well.

I would give him about a 30% chance to win, though. By the time the fight would be made, Shane would be 39 years old. He doesn't have the movement to keep up with Martinez at all... let alone at 155lbs. He would also have about a 2 1/2" height disadvantage as well.

The most important thing Mosley would want to do in this fight is to cut off the ring and make it a dog fight. I doubt he has the stamina to do that for a hard fought 12 rounds against a bigger man, but Martinez does get sloppy at times and does leave his hands down... that if Mosley could cut off the ring and get inside he could cause some damage. Another positive for Shane is, Martinez isn't a high volume puncher, he has mid fight lapses, along with stamina issues himself.

If he allows Martinez to circle and flurry, then it's game, set, match. Which will probably be the case.

I would rather Williams rematch Martinez, but I'd be interested in the matchup. Martinez is 35 years old himself.

Its the best option for both men because Sergio gets to fight a household name and if he wins gains more worldwide notoriety. If Shane beat Sergio for the MW champion, his relevance in the sport goes way up and his legacy is solidified.
