Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez Pitch For a Shane Mosley Clash is Made

Promoter Lou DiBella has advised BoxingScene.com that he made a serious offer to Golden Boy Promotions for a catch-weight bout between WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez and former two division champion Shane Mosley. Martinez is willing to defend his title against Mosley at the lowest possible catch-weight, 155-pounds. There appears to be no issue with Mosley receiving a bigger percentage of the money.

i want to see a rematch between him and williams personally

mosley was never great at 154 against someone with the movement and handspeed of martinez thats not a good recipe for mosley he stands a better chance of beating cotto at 154

I like that fight but I doubt Mosley will fight Martinez, Mosley said he want to fight big fights. Other then Paul Williams, Berto or Pacquiao this is a big fight. I would pick Martinez over Mosley

I'm done for it. Only Duran and Leonard were LW and WW Champs that became MW Champs. I think Oscar was one to. If Shane can beat Martinez which I doubt. His name is in the history books

Martinez is too much for Shane at this point in time.

Me as a Boxing fan I would love to see this fight. But as a Mosley fan not so much.Martinez brings the same wrinkles Mayweather brought.Overall this not a good fight for Shane.Hope he fights Cotto or Berto cause Mora is a wack fight.

I guess Lou feels the same way.....fighters don't challenge fighters that they think can beat them these days.....once a old fighter shows his age EVERYBODY wants him.....Chad Dawson wanted B.Hop even though B.Hop had no strap.....Lennox Lewis took Tyson to court to make him fight him......then once the old fighter gets beat, the guy who beat him will then claim the biggest win of his life by burying a ALREADY deadman......thats the boxing game today!!
