The Oscar who beat Mayorga would have beaten Margarito

I think in your post you are focusing more on what Oscar cant do or havent done instead of what Margarito and Oscar bring to the table style wise. We cant sit here and act like Oscar is a bum and that he wasnt ever a good fighter. I dont like him and I dont think es an ATG but he was pretty good.

At 154 I didnt like how Marg looked in the Santos fight. Hell I want even that impressed with him in his last fight at 154. Style wise I dont see how this match up favors Margarito at all.

What can Marg do that Mayorga couldnt? I think Mayo is bigger, stronger and hits harder then Margarito. He got handled in 6 rounds with ease.

Margarito is a slow starter a very slow starter. Oscar could just coast the first couple of rounds without wasting too much energy then when Marg wants to turn it up Oscar will still have stamina. Against Mayweather Oscar didnt land ONE left hook... Margarito wont be so lucky.

Oscar will stick him with the jab and lace him with left hooks. Even that version of Oscar is way faster than Marg and still the much better boxer. Not to mention Oscar has a rock soild chin. Oscar would be the bigger, stronger, faster, and more skilled boxer if he ever fought Margarito. Outside of a lucky punch I dont see how Marg can win. Im talking styles. Just look at the style match up. Marg gets outboxed.

The Santos fight? The fight got stopped prematurely. Lets not forget where they were fighting at. And, it was an evenly match when it got stopped. And, one fighter was coming on strong. i am pretty sure you know who it was.

Margarito cut off the ring better than Mayo, had a better uppercut then Mayo, put more effective pressure than Mayo, was more of a volume puncher than Mayo, had better stamina then Mayo, pretty much overall was better than Mayo. And, I am not sure about Mayo hitting harder. Neither fighter hurt Shane, Marg got rid of Six Heads Lewis in 2 rounds and Mayo did it in like 5 or 6 rounds. Also I think Marg is taller and rangier than Mayo. However, I agree that Mayo is stronger. But, Marg overall is the better fighter and is really not debatable IMO.

Even with slow starters Oscar still got tired in the end. Stylistically wise, Oscar doesn't clinch, Marg could take a hell of a punch, Marg gets stronger, Oscar gets weaker. You really not looking at styles properly. What you looking at was a fighter who at one point was awesome fighter who had heart, will, toughness and had a huge name. To another fighter who didn't have a name but just worked hard had the will, heart, toughness, hunger and you compare that to a part time fighter, who didn't have the will anymore, didn't have the hunger anymore, didn't have the toughness anymore.

Oscar fooled a lot of people with the Mayorga fight. He knew when he saw Mayo ******ly giving Tito flush shots like he did with Forrest. That Tito power would of cracked that chin. And, he did.

marg took those shots against cotto because his defense is ****....


the oscar who beat mayo was stronger, bigger, and faster then cotto with an arguable better jab...

he would have beat marg pre-cotto, and post cotto


honestly im not a fan of oscar and i feel your dislike towards him yet i still recognize that he was a very good boxer...even as a part time fighter

But, you comparing Marg chin post Cotto to Oscar chin. I don't think Oscar would of taken all the shots that Cotto landed Margario and still be standing. Just my opinion.

There is a reason why Oscar didn't fight him. Don't be fooled man. Because, even if Oscar did win. He would of suffered a lot and I mean a lot of punishment.
