Here is a simple, easy to read article about why hair analysis is better than blood analysis.

i agree...the system needs to be revamped. but a testing procedure that takes weeks to find results is completely useless. the idea should be to catch a guy during camp and cancel the fight if someone is dirty. if we aren't talkin about safety of the fighters..then why test at all.Under these sort of su****ions, should all fights that previously took place without blood testing leading up to the match be rendered su****ious and invalidated? lol
For the record, I am in favor of stricter drug testing policies, but not for only one fighter/fight. I think that if they use it for the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight then they should use it for every fight hereafter.Comment

There would be no reason to test a guy after the fight if that was the sole purpose of testing.i agree...the system needs to be revamped. but a testing procedure that takes weeks to find results is completely useless. the idea should be to catch a guy during camp and cancel the fight if someone is dirty. if we aren't talkin about safety of the fighters..then why test at all.
In many cases, it takes up to a week for a blood analysis report to come back.
So the results of any blood testing done within a week of the fight would come back the following week, after the fight, anyway.Comment

I am not in favor for a stricter drug test for all because you have to consider the cost that could eventually impact a fighter's purse.Under these sort of su****ions, should all fights that previously took place without blood testing leading up to the match be rendered su****ious and invalidated? lol

But I agree that it should not be for only one fight/fighter. I am more inclined to have it implemented for fights wherein the combined purse (of both fighters) exceeds one million dollars. And the cost should be burdened by both fighters proportionally, so meaning the higher paid fighter should bear the bigger cut of the cost of the drug test so just to make it fair.
So in this case the cost will not impact the fighter's income directly.Comment

i hear ya. catching a guy after the fact should be worst case...and should not be the only means of deterrent. There would be no reason to test a guy after the fight if that was the sole purpose of testing.
