I'm gonna go on record and pretty much agree with this thread. Dawson isn't my favorite fighter or anything. But he gets the job done. People know I'm high on Tavoris Cloud's abilities as well, but I don't want to form a full conclusion until I see how he looks against Glen Johnson which is a fight that I think definitely will be a test for him.

Why are you high on Cloud so much man? Please explain.

Also, I'll take bets on Pascal to murk Dawson from anyone. I ain't drinking the Bad Chad Kool Aid yet until I see him in against guys that aren't fossils.

Glen Johnson isn't even a great fighter having lost to Woods (controversial or not) and he beat Chad Dawson in the first fight in my view. I mean the division is weak. I'm not even impressed with any of the top fighters at 168.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, who does Cloud have to be better than in order to be good in your book? Bob Foster?

Andre Ward and Chad Dawson are overrated as fuck on this forum in my view too. It doesn't mean I don't think they are good fighters. And I made a thread about Ward today pointing out the flaw I think is gonna cause him to get KOd in the future if he ever fights a puncher with more skill than the current Euros that are in the tournament.

And that flaw is, having a left hook that is amateurish as fuck. Watch the Cloud-Woods fight and see that one part of where Cloud nearly takes the head off of Clinton Woods in one of those middle rounds. That's the way you are supposed to throw a left hook. Not the way Ward throws it. And not only is it ineffective. It's a potentially costly mistake that is gonna get him caught in the future.

You don't have to tell me about Ward. He doesn't even understand distance, much less throwing a combination or a proper left hook. When he gets out of Oakland in front of a Smoger type ref that will penalize him for holding so much and forces him to fight, he'll get ktfo. He fights like that cuz' he's afraid of getting hit.

As for Cloud, if you're high on him relative to the division then I guess I understand. But Cloud unto himself isn't that good imo either. I like his style 1000x more than the ***** **** that Dawson, Ward and Dirrell bring, but he's still unproven. If he can start stringing together k.o wins over the wasteland at 75' then I'll get on board.

I just can't **** with fighters being called "great" and pulling in 12 round decisions over shot or over the hill fighters.

Pascal has fast ass hands, can string combinations together, has a solid chin and good power. Not to mention he's athletic too.

Plus he's been in against the tougher comp.

I als think if Pascal's shoulder holds up, Dawson will be in for a long night. Because Dawson is not a knockout puncher and the judges over in Canadan won't be kind to him if he doesn't do any damage with his punches. But Pascal's shoulder is the ? mark in this fight to me.

No way could Diacanu or Froch beat Johnson. Diacanu couldn't beat Tarver, and I think maybe Froch-Tarver would be a competitive fight. And Adamek would beat Pascal himself.
