Even now I think he'd give every fight from 168-175 a very tough fight.

Hopkins is not an easy fight for anyone, if Ward and Hopkins fought today it would be like watching a young hopkins vs a more experienced, savvy but less athletic Hopkins.

Ward would easily outpoint the Hopkins who fought Calzaghe.

I feel that after this tourney is done, we can say that. Calzaghe's retired anyway. Who cares about him? He's not in the tournament.

        *BUT*

Some People think he could beat him using his box (1 punch?), grab and maul style right?

Well let me ask you this: if Bernard Hopkins; the master of grab, maul and inside fighting could not maul Calzaghe what proof do anyone have that Ward could?!!?! Unless you're saying Ward is a better inside fighter than Hopkins who is a recognized ATG..........

Lets go one further. if you watch the Hopkins v Calz fight you'll actually notice how Calzaghe - who has never really fought maulers before - superbly nullified Bernard's inside fighting by beating him at his own game and tying his left arm up and tucking his body in making bernards' rabbit punches impossible.

So I have to ask again: Why are people here - and on other forums - saying Ward beats Calzaghe. Styles make fights I've just broken it down for eerbody in this fight HOW can Ward beat Joe!?!?!
        Heck, Bute beats Ward......

Ward may be as skilled but Calz resume and achievements blow Ward out of the water. I'm not a big Calz fan but once Ward was to get in the ring with him, it'd be totally different story.

WTF are you on about? Calzaghe's resume is bull**** and everyone knows it.

When Calzaghe was 35 he was finally accomplishing some of the things that Ward is already doing at 25... like beating someone that matters in the sport.

Calzaghe may be a better fighter but you can hardly tell by looking at the long line of nobodies that he beat up and the two ancient washed up Grandpas that he fought to end his career.

lol all you want but real talk... Hopkins, the man who lost to Jermain Taylor (twice), is just too lazy in the ring to beat someone with Ward's skills and motor.
