Calzaghe never had a great win and never proved any thing with the few good wins that he had. Ward at the beginning of his career already has a resume a few steps short from the resume that Calzaghe had at the end of his career, he just needs to fight 2 40 year olds . Its all over if Ward adds all the names of the Super Six to his winning resume.
your an idiot... and i can see that your from america, why you pick ward..

im american and calzaghe would own ward............

A few good points for Ward here but some really biased ones too

I agree Ward is young and therefore there shouldn't be comparisons but this post was unfortunately a reaction to those comparisons.

I saw somebody mention Bernard was 40 when he fought Joe not 20; that's true but then @ 20 or 30 Hopkins wasn't mauling. The point I was making was at 40 with his decades of ring experience he still couldn't Maul Joe so how could Ward?

Also I don't think Ward is better than Joe in any of the below:

          Workrate
          Upper body movement
          footwork
          technique
          experience
          physcology
          stamina
          ring smarts
*and as I say and made an example of he can't maul Joe like Kessler/Green*

As I say agree its too early for comparisons. But at this point you just can't make the comparison imo. Ward is too green (no pun intended).

Like I said earlier. It is too early to compare.. I don't think is fair to Ward right now. But, technique as of right now I think Ward has the edge. You might be right with everything else. But, Technique? IMO I like Ward in that department.

Ward is still a very young fighter and has already shown a desire to prove his greatness that Calzaghe never had.

Joe C. would have never entered a competition like The Super 6 at any point in his sheltered career.

Who is better? God only knows.

I just know that Ward at least has a desire to prove his greatness against top level competition whereas Calzaghe was content to fight a long line of nobodies before capping his career with victories over a couple of guys who were 10 years past their prime.

Both of them were past their prime, your point?

Didn't Hopkins go on and completely kill a fighter tiped to be the next Middleweight legend and compared to Hagler and a young Hopkins himself in Kelly Pavlik?
