I think it does. Pacquioa has big knuckles/hands. If you see him against Oscar/Hatton/Cotto, he had the bigger hands which is crazy cause he is the smaller guy. You can't grow bigger bones so you can consider that one of his gifts. His speed, plus the club like hands he has definitely has to add up to the damage he accumulates on fighters. Also, I like to think wrist size helps moreso than handsize because it helps transfer all the power through to the hand. If you got smaller wrist with big hands, there's a lot of power I think your lacking because of that.
Fist size = power?

Does not mean as much, but bigger fists are less prone to injury due to energy spread being over a larger area, however as someone else noted smaller fists mean better releasing area for the kinetic energy.Comment

As an example, Kostya Tszyu had a crazy power in his right hand, however he had some very small fists.Comment

but that larger/smaller area argument doesn't apply when you're wearing gloves.
yes some gloves are smaller than others but still a pretty big area.
having a bigger fist helps you fill out that glove , making it more solid.Comment

This ^^^^^^^
also you can add technique to this as well. This is the sole reason Manny has been able to carry his power up with him in the higher weight class. Also I can only imagine if guys like Foreman and Hamed used proper techniques, how devastating they would be as punchers. I think those guys would literally kill people or send them out on stretchers if they had proper technique.
Guys like Tua, Tyson come to mind as guys who had the best combination of speed, mass and technique.Comment

It does, consider this:a fighter on average lands hundreds of punches over the course of the fight, every time he lands its a microinjury to his hand, now multiply this by whatever number he lands and you got yourself some swell hands. And I am not even mentioning the stress that your hands undergo during training. Stuffing and wraps help, but not nearly as much. The wear and tear is a huge factor.Comment

i think there are different types of power.. someone skinny who does more of a momentum swing like julian jackson or paul williams could benefit from heavier hands.. but someone like james toney puts all his bodyweight behind it squarely and his hands could be the size of a baseball and it would still fuck **** up. this is just my theoryComment
