thats besides the point. did you not believe JMM had a chance like many others to beat floyd? im betting the answer is YES but reality kicked in after the 1st min of the first round. you flipflopped then came the excuses
fact still remains that JMM challeneged Floyd. and being that most(including the experts) felt he beat pac, both times. JMM was p4p #2. floyd was coming out of retirement, gunning for pac and wanted to send a msg to team pac that hes not ready for a fight like floyd. it made perfect sense for floyd(strategically) to fight JMM.
like denzel said in training day "its chess, not cheackers"
again, floyd never used his size to beat JMM. it was all boxing.
I sort of agree with you.....
Mayweather did use his skills to beat Marquez, as he does with all of his opponents, but the size disparity made it impossible for Marquez to be effective at that weight.
When JMM fought Floyd he was FOUR divisions above his most comfortable weight class, what with him being a career featherweight.
Marquez is a truly great fighter, but two things had to happen in order for him to be competitive against Mayweather.....
1.) JMM had to take some of his power, and most of his speed with him to 144lb
2.) Mayweather had to be affected by the lay-off, and the change in training to get to 144lb
None of those things happened.
Marquez was never able to get his game going, because he learned in round two that he could not pay the price for any mistakes.
in the US, yes but not internationally. Do you know how much is the population of the Philippines alone? I don't have the exact figure of the Filipinos (that watch the fight) in other countries but I am so sure that we are more than a million. FYI just in case you don't know.
Manny Pacquiao: I am not concerned about the money from a Mayweather fight… I just want to give exciting fights!”
By FightFan.com Staff (15-Feb-2010)
Courtesy of the Krystal Hart Show, see what Manny Pacquiao has to say about his upcoming fight with Joshua Clottey and the Floyd Mayweather Jr. fallout!
Manny Pacquiao: “I’m not concerned about the Money (that would have come in a fight vs. Mayweather). I’m concerned about what I can give in terms of my performance to the people who love boxing. My concern isn’t only with myself, but with the people who buy tickets looking for a good fight. I don’t want to disappoint people with a boring fight. I feel you need to entertain the people who watch your fights.”
“I think with what I’ve done in boxing over the last few years I’m happy that I’ve given the fans a good and exciting stretch of fights. I promise you that in my next fight against Clottey I will give a good fight and make everyone happy. Without God I’m not here and that’s important to me. I can’t promise I’ll win the fight but I will give my best to honour my country and boxing fans everywhere.”
Now how can u argue that this fraud aint the ne ducking instead? he doesnt care about the money. he cares about you. lol!
