You are absolutely correct!! Mayweather vs Mosley (10th highest in history) had a higher gate than Manny vs Clottey. When you're selling seats for practically nothing the gate is not going to be high.

very good statement, they say manny is a people champ so if it like this so fight for the people and don't ask for more, in comparison with pacquaio floyd made more buys than manny with common opponents so he deserves the more money split,and floyd always says that he is in check cashinq business.

This fight was doomed from the onset especially after the ppv numbers came out. Business wise there is no way for Mayweather to accept less or equal percentage for the fight because he has proven that he is a bigger draw than Manny. I am not hating on Manny but I said after Mayweather/Mosely and Clottey/Manny that Mayweather was going to demand a bigger portion of the pie. Manny made around $12 million in his last fight and Mayweather made around $30 or $40, so how in the he** do you not expect Mayweather to not demand more money.

Things like the internet weren't around back in the 80s so the ins and out of fighters contracts wouldn't be spread to the community as easily as it is now. There is no doubt in my mind that when signing contracts promoters would consider the ppv draw of the fighter when splitting the purse, especially when you're talking about fighters like SRL, Hearns and Ali.

At the end of the day, boxing has always been about money for the fighter.

The fight has to be 50-50. They are only going to generate that money together. Take one of them out of the fight and they don't sell ****. The only way this is happening is 50-50. Floyd knows this so what does that tell you. The Pacqiuao side has'nt created any reasons not to fight only the Mayweather side.
