David Lemieux Really Owned Teddy Atlas On FNF

No only did he predict an Ayala win before the fight, even after a knockdown or two he said something like "if Ayala survives this round, he'll win the fight".Comment

Not to say Lemieux won't be good, but I heard Ayala had weight issues coming into this fight and either way he's far removed from his best days. It's probably not fair to compare what Lemieux did against him to what Arthur Abraham did against him.Comment

He is nothing really special to me until he steps up his competition. You guys are easily wowed by his power which is above average. He does have a nice hook. Right now I place him in the same Category as Tyrone Brunson. Tyrone was knockin out all his competitors with poor records just as David is doing and once he stepped it up he got knocked out.Comment

Teddy usually has his mind made up before the fight starts... so even when Lemiuex turned it up and was knockin the snot out of Ayala he was saying something to the effect of what a poster said on here about "If Ayala can survive the round he will win this... the only way Lemiuex can beat this guy is [Ayala goes down] THAT RIGHT THERE! JUST LIKE I SAID IN THE FIGHT PLAN!!!"Sorry I am a couple days late with his one but I didn't catch it live and just saw it last night.
As per usual Teddy Atlas couldn't stop himself from saying something ****** within the first 15 seconds of the fight.
"I have to say, these people are so excited up here about Lemiuex... I don't see it.... Not that I am a genius, I am far from it, I'm just not nearly as taken by Lemiuex as everyone around here is."
Of course in a matter of 90 seconds Lemieux managed to completely destroy Elvin Ayala, a man who went 12 rounds with Arthur Abraham.
Why the hell does Atlas feel compelled to start talking down about the main event fighter on an ESPN card before the fight has even gotten started?
And also, what the hell had Atlas seen that made him so skeptical? This guy Lemiuex is a goddamn animal.
That was the most impressive offensive performance I have seen on ESPN in a very, very long time.
Lemiuex should call Teddy Atlas up and tell him to kiss his Canuck Ass.
LMAO! Like the only reason Lemiuex won is because he 'followed Teddys fightplan'. That's what annoys me about Teddy the most, because he comes into the fight with a certain opinion about a fighter, he talks that opinion up so much during the fight that even when the opponent is doing some good work - it's usually overlooked or more accurately being overtalked by him.
TBH though even though I didn't see the fight with AA/Ayala, Lemiuex and AAs sytles are totally different. Basing the fact that Ayala went 12 rounds with AA isn't really good indicator of what kind of fighter Ayala is/was. Ayala had little to no head movement or movement in general against a come forward, multi-punch pressure fighter like Lemiuex - but I take nothing away from Lemiuex... he did what he was supposed to do and looked great doing it.Last edited by Lorily; 06-15-2010, 04:16 PM.Comment

I agree. Once a guy like Omar has 22 fights he'll be champion or a top contender. He is nothing really special to me until he steps up his competition. You guys are easily wowed by his power which is above average. He does have a nice hook. Right now I place him in the same Category as Tyrone Brunson. Tyrone was knockin out all his competitors with poor records just as David is doing and once he stepped it up he got knocked out.
This guy will never be a great champion.Comment

good point! Omar Henry all the wayThere is nothing impressive about Lemieux, IMO.
His footwork is bad, he has bad hand speed, he takes shots from fighters that shouldn't land cleanly, his jab has zero crispness, he's not fast and he lacks killer instinct.
He isn't making waves for a reason after what? 20 or 21 fights? 22? And no it's not because he's Canadian or whatever you racist fellow countrymen want to say, it's because everything I said above is true. Teddy knows more about boxing than anybody in this thread and if I can see it, I'm sure Teddy see's more than I.
Omar Henry will absolutely emasculate him in the first 90 seconds, and take his head off in the next 60 seconds for a Round 1 KO.Comment

I heard this guy doesn't even know how to speak French :nonono
On a serious note Manfredo has won his last two fights at 160 and picked up an IBO belt.Comment
