David Lemieux Really Owned Teddy Atlas On FNF

Sorry I am a couple days late with his one but I didn't catch it live and just saw it last night.

As per usual Teddy Atlas couldn't stop himself from saying something ****** within the first 15 seconds of the fight.

"I have to say, these people are so excited up here about Lemiuex... I don't see it.... Not that I am a genius, I am far from it, I'm just not nearly as taken by Lemiuex as everyone around here is."

Of course in a matter of 90 seconds Lemieux managed to completely destroy Elvin Ayala, a man who went 12 rounds with Arthur Abraham.

Why the hell does Atlas feel compelled to start talking down about the main event fighter on an ESPN card before the fight has even gotten started?

And also, what the hell had Atlas seen that made him so skeptical? This guy Lemiuex is a goddamn animal.

That was the most impressive offensive performance I have seen on ESPN in a very, very long time.

Lemiuex should call Teddy Atlas up and tell him to kiss his Canuck Ass.

He was very good. I'm really impressed and like how they've been moving him along. I'd like to see him vs Peter Manfredo next. Better step up against a solid contender.

Not really, that french kid is still untested. Yeah he won but come on did you see how sloppy and wide open he was?

I don't think Manfredo is a step up from Ayala, and I doubt that Manfredo would or could fight at 160. I think Lemieux at this point needs to buckle down and be a 160 lber and develop a plan to get his title shot, not mess around jumping weight classes for a couple bucks...

Honestly, I didn't even know who he was until this week, so I dont think they should push him too hard, he is young.

He should fight 2 or 3 more times on ESPN this year in fights he can look spectacular in. I love the way he fights and he can build a following fast with a string of impressive KO's.

                Sloppy and wide open?

That's hilarious coming from a guy with Arthur Abraham in his avatar.

Lemiuex just got done owning a guy who AA couldn't hurt for 11 rounds, so I would say he is much more accurate and compact than Artie.

He is wild, and aggressive when he knows he has the advantage. Big deal.

Anyone who actually looks at the fight will see that Lemieux throws a very straight right hand and a very compact left hook that will beat most every middleweight to the punch.

And more and more often that guy is foreign.

Manfredo has fought at 160 for a while now. He weighed 159 1/4th in his last two fights and is the current "IBO Middleweight Champion"

Lemieux has stepped up in each of his last couple of fights. He wiped out Walid Smichdt in 2 rounds. Then Ayala in one. I think he's ready to step it up to better comp.

What's interesting to me though is that he couldn't KO Jason Naugler and Donovan George, a prospect from chicago, KOd him in 4 rounds. Check out George if you haven't. Dude has his flaws, but his power is scary and he's very exciting.
