Good to see cotto is not being stubborn anymore and knows for this chapter in the career he will need to have REAL trainer to get him in the right direction.he has a voice that he respects unlike his uncle and his homie Santiago.still think he should get at a lower ranked top 10 , maybe not a top 3 Yet,at 54 to really gauge the steward transition..but I understand its a business and got to worry more bout money now than anything else.nonetheless good to hear.Last edited by the mesiah; 06-13-2010, 02:23 PM.Comment

I agree, good for him picking on Steward to stay, even thou it was kinda late in his career to make a move like that when it was suppossed to be done a long time ago. Also, if the 'ghosts from the past" dont hunt him and he beats Marg, he wouldnt make it against any top name out there in 154 that is worth fighting, not at this point in his career.....Comment

No he should go back to Santiago.WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will continue to retain Emanuel Steward as the head trainer of his team. Cotto was very pleased with the adjustments Steward made to his style which led to the nine round TKO victory over Yuri Foreman at Yankee Stadium on June 5. Cotto wants to return in a very big before the end of the year and Steward will be by his side. Steward is the longtime trainer of WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
