Dzinziruk is very good. Good jab, good defense, very good counter puncher. He also stands 6 feet tall. He is a definite threat to any of the 154 lb champions. I think he would beat Cotto easily, he would back him up all night with that jab, plus the height difference is too much for Cotto. A good boxer turns Alfredo Angulo into a human punching bag (Kermit Cintron did). He would be completely outclassed by Dzinziruk. Sergio would be very tough for him because of his movement and that he throws punches from all angles. HBO should make this fight happen.

The point I'm making is that networks care bout ratings, and in order for there to be at least a genuine interest in this fight to be even considered a main event attraction there has to be some notoriety from the fighters themselves.

Unfortunately, Dzinziruk doesn't possess that noteriety yet and Sergio does. In case you (and some others for that matter) didn't notice Sergio is in his late 30's his prime years may already be on the decline and considering some of the back to back fights he has had (i.e. Cintron, P. Williams, Pavlik) I think he at least earned the right to turned the other cheek on this dude especially if he hasn't established any notoriety yet to begin with.
I agree, would love to see it, but have to look at it from more than a fan's perspective.

And, I refuse to believe that Vanes who fought on a undercard fight on a premiuim network which he looked awful in by the way in a snoozer brings in more money then a fighter who fought on the main event of premium network where he won by KO.
you forget that Vanes beat a highly rated Joe Greene, the same Joe Greene who was lined up to fight the same Sergio Martinez before he pulled out, while Mr. Dzinziruk fought an unknown from Australia who had 2 weeks notice at best and gave everything Dzinziruk could handle. so before you get too excited about the Dzinziruk fight and compare to Vanes' fight check your facts and the accomplishments of the opponent. Joe Greene lost a chance to go the 2004 olympics by losing to Andre Dirrell by 1 point-so dont take anything away from Vanes' victory, when you probably cant even remember the name of the guy Dzinziruk fought...

Youre overrating Greene quite a bit, he's never been highly rated, he was highly thought of 3 years ago, highly rated no.

dibella and shaw should try to find a way to put together a double header here.
but dzinziruk v cintron and martinez v perro might b a bit much to ask for at this time.
dzinziruk v cintron sounds about right at this point tho.
