I would say, after your first fight. Are you a boxer Larry?

When you have 5 or more fights, nah, that doesn't sound right.

boxing can help your life so much

it disiplines you,it helps you healthwise,it keeps you away from foolishness, and gives you direction..it should be instituted in schools..

imo thats not what boxing is about..boxers will most likely avoid a fight with the average person..boxing is a sport and should be treated as such

I have fought 3 amateur fights, 3 rounds of 1 minute, and still wouldn't consider myself a boxer.
1st fight we used 18oz gloves.
2nd fight we used 16oz gloves.
3rd fight we used 12oz gloves.

I'm training this summer hard so I can hopefully fight at Chicago Golden Gloves as a novice.

                  Agreed.

I'd love it to be a collegiate sport. (well at least a known collegiate sport)

That sounds cool Larry. I recently joined a boxing gym in my area and have quit the "excesses" as well. My trainer said to me the other day "I want joo to stick your jab out like a pole." I replied like a Vitali Klitschko jab? He said "no, I want a Larry Holmes jab!".....
