Poor Training Regiment or Too Bigheaded = The Downfall of Zab Judah

I was thinking...Zab was one of my favorite fighters to watch...he was exciting, he was mouthy (in a entertaining non-disrespectful way), he had boxing ability and had a killer instinct.

He appeared in Hip Hop videos (Jay-Z - Do it Again) and had name recognition....

So what is the explanation for the downfall of one of the most talented fighters of our generation....losing to fighters he shouldn't have lost to (Kosta and Baldomir)....yet showing great heart and determination against fighters he was expected to lose against (Cotto and Clottey)....then totally lose his mind on the biggest stage of his career (Floyd).

It just doesn't add up...and that's why I have come to the conclusion that it has to be either of the two.

I'd like to see what others think about Zab...please refrain from dissing Zab as overrated and a chump....becuase you don't just GET to fight all the above fighters by chance....you EARN the shot.

Zab is one of those naturally gifted fighters. He has raw talent. Very impressive. Unfortunately, he hasnt shaped it like someone like Floyd.

He still has the gift. If he can shape it, he can be on top again.

Zab isnt exactly known for his brains. He should have dispatched Cotto very early.

I'm not sure if he was promoted by Don King at some point and for some reason fighters lose it when Don is their promoter

I stated this in another thread....

Maybe it's time for a change of scenery for Zab....he NEEDS A NEW TRAINER. The situation is very similar with Shane.....father / son team.....gets the best out of his fighter according to the best that the trainer can do....Zab "peaked" long ago as far as improving and boxing ability....a new trainer with the experience and reputation for reviving careers could be in order. (Ex. Floyd Sr., McGirt and Steward).....unfortunately 2 our of those 3 don't come cheap.....but if any of them see anything left in Zab...i'm sure that they would be willing to work at a discounted rate.....

Its not about if Zab can shape it....as we all know...he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed...BUT he is a sharp tool....and just like any other tool....he needs someone who can get the best out of him....= new trainer.

That is what I meant, if his talent can be used to its full ability... by having the right team and right mindset.

Shower door tried to stop the downfall of Zab 'Super' Judah, but he was just too gifted an athlete to let that happen.
