Is there any other fights besides kessler that would make you think that he is a dirty fighter?

Ward's comments is likely sincere, but we all saw those butts. The last ones was completely unnecessary as the fight was won at that time. So why do it? I say it was because Ward couldn't help himself. It's not that he wanted to do it, but those butts are so integrated in the way he fought that he just didn't know how to stop.

And why should he make an effort to stop? The referee would have allowed an earbite I'm sure.
My bad Batt..we are better than this..didn't mean to say you were bitter, for real. I understand your disappointment though. He will fight more under control against Green and its my belief that we won't see many headbutts on his part on the 19th of this month.

I don't think I've seen a Ward fight where he didn't hold and hit-and-hold. Headbutts isn't the only dirty trick he knows.

          But we'll still see some?

I hope we see a clean fight although my hopes aren't high at all. Remember that Ward as always fights at home with a likely biased referee.

Its possible, because this is boxing man. Let's be real here. Headbutts happen in this sport. When certain styles clash, we see these type of things. I mean, who's to say that Green won't lunge in and headbutt Ward? There is no absolute way to really forecast how many there will be, but as I have said, on Ward's part when he fights more controlled, you won't see him lunging in with his head.

He always fights at home? He fought Kessler and Miranda in his hometown of Oakland..who else?

I think Ward may end up as a more skilled, Bernard Hopkins.

He'll fight Dirrell at home also according to the original supersix agreement, so all his meaningful fights have been at home. For sure he wont cross the Atlantic in this tournament so he wont experience jetlag, foreign language and foreign food. Good for him and great job by Goosen.

That's certainly an advantage - and a huge one. I guess he came with a heavy price. But it's not as if he's unproven on opposing turf. Ward was one of the best amateurs in recent times.

Was Battling Nelson a dirty fighter?
Battling Nelson: Nelson was grotesquely tough. When he stepped between the ropes, dirty fighting took on a new meaning. His thumbs were inquisitive when it came to eyes, his knees often seemed to have a reflex jerk towards testicles, his forehead tended to make aim independently.
