i would take kirkland huge over p-willie. wiliams does not want to go to war with kirkland. williams is the one with no power and a suspect chin. james kirkland was a gorilla before he went to prison, i hope he gets even almost as much out of himself now as he did before. he can be a GREAT fighter if he can stay at 154. within 2 years i think he could take any 154 lber. before he went to jail - martinez would beat him - thats it. now that cottos at 154 i think cotto is a little bit too well schooled and experienced for him. give kirkland 5 fights and once he gets that type of experience under his belt he can be unbeatable

Kirkland looked horrible against Julio.I saw enough, the guy will never be a durable champ.
He has hearth and chin, good power(not great),but very poor skills, poor D,NO BOXING IQ.

lol you think kirkland looked horrible against Julio?? Man, what you talking about? He displayed such hunger and determination in that fight, he walked through julio's punches and julio is a big puncher.

I don't think cotto could handle kirkland at 154 to be honest. I think that relentless pressure is what will do cotto in, he's not powerful enough at 154 to hold cotto off for 12 entire rounds, I think cotto would fold from the pressure eventually.

If Kirkland can return to form, that is if he's in shape and still has that hunger and intensity about him as he did pre-jail, I think he will be a force at 154. Only person that I'm sure could beat him is sergio martinez. Paul Williams would be a good test but something about p-will lately has me a bit worried, seems to not take shots as well as he did a couple years ago.
If Kirkland was in top form, I would favor him over everyone but Martinez, Pwill, and Dzindzurek.

Too much pressure and power for Cotto.

              Cotto is small at 154.

You put Vanes, Rhodes and them and not Dzindzurek?

I think Kirkland can KO skinny Willy
