Im a huge Klitschko fan and I am an American. Here is the truth in my opinion why people in the U.S. are apathetic towards the Kbros. Im not going to say hate, Id say that most don't really care and the average American probably has no idea who they are. There are a few reasons for this and they all stem from the media.

If ESPN covered the Klitschko's like they covered Tyson or some of the UFC stuff, they would be sooo much bigger. Now I am not saying I blame ESPN, they moved away from covering the fight game other than PBF and Pacman. 18 ESPN's but they barely cover boxing. They cover NASCAR here and things like that much more. Part of this is boxings fault. Boxing has become too complicated in terms of champs and when people fight and who theyre fighting. Its crazy. 3 HW champs right now for example, the average fan cant follow along. Hard to show a clip from Vitali vs. Sosnowski and in 2 minutes explain why people should care. Also fighters (surprisingly not the KBROS) are fighting sooo much less. Hard to keep peoples attention when guys are fighting once every 15 months or something. Also the brutality is now common place on tv, in hockey, mma/pro wrestling, people see this stuff. There are many reasons the media doesnt cover boxing.

Also Klitschko specific the bros arent the typical athlete. They dont go out on rapings, they dont say things that dont make any sense, they arent on their 8th drug rehabilitation. They dont make a good story other than a special piece on them. Theres never like Klitschko news that would grab the non boxing fan. Heck, ESPN has seemed to even try, when Vitali/Wlad were talking trash about Haye they ran the clips, even had Wlad on tv. English isnt his first language so its not a great interview, but also the fights fizzled out, but theres rarely news people care about, seriously is the average sports fan going to enticed by, "Vitali Klitschko shows up to the weigh in, in shape, and gets weighed, then he said he hopes itll be a good fight and went back home."

They arent big in the U.S. because they arent a story, they needed another fighter to make them one. No one has ever stepped up. Imagine if Arreola was in shape (hard to do), imagine if he went to war with Vitali and through a really tough fight was KO'ed in the 12th, now imagine Arreola beat Adamek, beat like a Haye etc..all the time talking **** about a rematch, this would create a story people would care about. Arreola can talk, he acts like the athletes Americans know. This stuff doesnt happen though and the Klitschko's have to market themselves. If Joe Frazier didnt exist, Ali wouldnt be close to as big as he is. What helped Ali (the coward) was having guys like Frazier who added to the hype, unfortunately for Wlad and Vit its all on them.

They say the reason that these Russians are dominating is because all the great "American" athletes are in the NFL and NBA, forgetting the fact that until the early 90's, the Russians couldn't participate in the sport of boxing. Low and behold, the Berlin Wall goes down all it takes is 10 years before the Russians take over. The NFL and NBA was just as big in the 80's and 90's and they had great heavyweights according to Americans, but once the Russians take over, all great American heavyweights disappear?

Have you noticed an influx of European basketball players in recent years? Expect that trend to continue, then all we will hear is that all the great American athletes are working as lawyers and doctors now, lol.

HOW ELSE DO YOU THINK SOMEONE LIKE HAYE WITHOUT REAL TECHNICAL SKILL CAME IN AND BECAME A CROWD FAVORITE OVERNIGHT??

          BECAUSE PEOPLE WANTED FRESH BLOOD!

TRUTH BE TOLD TEH KLITSCHOS NEED TO FIGHT ONE ANOTHER. THEY ARE TEH CHAMPS CORRECT?

Cuz' they are too cowardly to admit that its cuz' they're white.

You can't possibly find them boring if you like Mayweather since they knock everyone out.

Which only leaves one obvious reason.

Next thing he'll tell us is that Tony Tucker or Bonecrusher Smith would dominate this HW division if they were around (and it wouldn't be the first time I'd had read it, either).
