Therefore, Mayweather could come out and flat out say, "I'm scared of this Philipino buzzsaw" and his backers would find a way to validate it as a legitimate reason not to take the fight. Likewise, Pac would come out and say "Mayweather is a style that I've had difficulties with in the pastm, and he's bigger, faster, and better than all of those guys I've had trouble with. Therefore, I don't want to fight him." And his backers would sear on a stack of Bibles that Pac is using reverse psychology. So in the end, regardless of what happens, those that think its Mayweather's fault the fight isn't happening will continue to blame him. And those who think that its Pac's fault will continue to blame him. Both guys know this. Therefore, to say one is putting pressure on the other to make the fight is ridiculous because in the end, its not gonna matter.
And I made a comments related to this in the other big Pac/Floyd thread we talked about yesterday.

If only reasonable Floyd & Pacquiao fans just stopped the petty arguing over their fighters personal interests, whether it's how much money they should get or how the drug testing should go, and all just came together and agreed that they don't care what the terms are...JUST MAKE THE FIGHT HAPPEN.

That would put pressure on both.

Yes in a ideal world, that would be perfect.

Of course Pacquiao is just as greedy and money driven as Floyd, even though he hasn't built his persona around it and acts like a holier than thou guy.

so true, but do you notice that nobody says Pac is scared and that's why he won't agree to floyds terms. I'm just sayin', if Pac says he will agree to OSTs and take a little less to prove to the world he's the best. then we have something to talk about...

Cro, the only reason the terms are relevant are because they're what's holding the fight up. But what you say is so true. By the majority of fans being so emotional one way or the other, there's no real unified public pressue to make the fight. It is what it is, and its gone be what its gone be. Pac is the more popular fighter. Therefore, if the fight doesn't happen, the majority will say its Mayweather's fault. If people took the emotion out of it, they would see that both sides are being somewhat ridiculous. IMO, Mayweather knows it will be his fault if the fight doesn't happen, so he doesn't give a **** about how the public will see him. Pac's the fan favorite, therefore he has more to lose if he's seen as the reason its not made. That's why his camp has been in full PR mode in order to sway the public to place blame at Money's feet if it doesn't happen. If everyone would just come together and say they're both full of ****, which is closer to the truth than anything else that's been said, we'd probably be able to get it done. But with everyone chosing sides, one side is gonna have to cave in to make the fight happen and that's juts not gonna happen in the near future.

            • PAc ran out of big pay day opponents, and Pac is looking for a final pay day. I commend him...but just one question. Why didn't he agree before???

There are a host of fighters Pac did not face who fans think he should've faced.

Mayweather had outdrawn him with common opponents, but Pac had had the better recent PPV event. But now, in comparing their two respective fights since Money's comeback, Money's outdrawn him by 500K buys. Combine that with the 2:1 clip that he's outdrawn Pac with common opponents, and nothing justifies Pac getting an even split, whether we like it or not.
That's BS because that same old excuse/argument/claim had been made already by Gayweather's camp way before the first negotiations, before the Pac vs Clottey fight, and before the May vs Mosley fight. Whether that claim is true or not and it is probably a fact, regardless, the fact is that Floyd had already agreed to a 50/50 split. The only issue was on Manny's side, and now apparently have been resolved, so there is no other excuses to be made on both sides, period.

OK, let me try and make this simpler for you buddy. Say your current employer hires you with a bachlor's degree at $50K a year. But, you discover that your company would be paying you $75K a year to do the same job if you had a masters. So, you go to school and earn your masters. Well, you take that to your employer and they tell you, "Nope, you agreed to $50K a year, so that's all you're getting." Would that be right? I think not. This situation is the same. Mayweather has gone out and clearly established hismelf as the bigger draw. He's outdrawn Pac by 500K PPV buys in their two fights respectively in his return. 500K buys is over $30M in revenue. Sorry buddy, but $30M+ is a ****load of money that can't be ignored except in Mutantville, Pacland. If Pac wants to be treated as an equal, he needs to fight someone else, and show that he can generate the same type of revenue. But if he wants Mayweather now, he's probably gonna have to do it as the B side the promotion because the numbers dictate it.

                    • @ 16 May was 106 pounds too!!!

I'm bored with people saying Pac fights bigger guys. Yes he started boxing at 106 pounds, he was also 16 then. Guess what, at 16 Floyd was also 106 pounds and had just won a national Golden Gloves championship. I think it was 1993. Manny was born 1 year after Mayweather so please stop the BS. Yes, he fight bigger guys but under conditions that cause them to drain themselves dry. Get real...
