    Smart move by Joe.

A second fight would of been even more dreadful to watch.

It's ridiculous how little credit Calzaghe gets. People are not even taking into consideration the Eubank fight

Eubank who had said he was retired after losing to Steve Collins twice and had a lot of trouble making the weight? A fairly good win, but lets not go overboard.

on the other hand, his wins over Brewer and Mitchell are probably a little underrated. and maybe his win over Richie Woodhall too, although Woodhall wasnt looking so hot at that point in his career.

Good choice for joe, he has nothing to gain from it, yes he could get anouther pay day at the expence of his legacy, but thats not really worth it for him.

            Clazache is over rated!

He is a gutless coward! He stayed in England for nearly his entire career beating dish washers! When he came to the States he fought two old guys who put him on his ass!! IF they were a bit younger, what do you think would have happened!??? He would have gotten his wig pushed back!!! Sure he has some skill but he is NOT top shelf! If I were him, I would lay off the slopes and beat old ass Hopkins for a ton of money!!! Hopkins has one foot in the grave, so there is NO risj there! Good riddance to the dancing, feather fisted one!!! Go skiing as you are reported to be doing! In a few years you will regret not beating an old fossil for a ton of loot!

He won't comeback because he knows he truly can't hang in there with tough, talented, skilled fighters in their prime. Never could.
that's bull****. you may not like calzaghe, but it's ridiculously blinkered to deny his achievements like that. he cleaned out the division, beating everybody who would fight him (hopkins and jones both though he was too high risk for too low reward in the early part of the decade). it wasn't his fault he couldn't get bigger fights earlier in his career. if the 2006 version of calzghe was in the super 6, he would wipe the floor with all of them. many respected writers and experts have him down as the best 168 fighter ever. he had a superb chin, great hand and foot speed, ring generalship, the lot.

Eubank is way too underrated by U.S. fans, they don't know how good he actually was, which is understandable because he never fought in the U.S., or against any top american fighters (after the Michael Watson tragedy, he took the path of least resistance, fighting only for financial gain.

Make no mistake though, he was one of the best ever UK fighters. Calzaghe said throughout his whole career that it was by far his hardest fight, and that was when Eubank had retired once and came in at late notice.
Don't judge Eubank from the Collins fights - that wasn't the best of him - he had signed an 8 fight in one year deal with SKY for 10 million, unheard of at the time. By the time he got to face Collins he had fought four times that year already and was suffering burn out.
Eubank could have achieved a lot more than he did in his career, and I think it was probably Calzaghe's biggest ever win, amongst several other very good ones.
