You cannot deny that Vitali retired Lewis. Its undeniable. We all know that Lewis wanted to keep fighting but after the fight with Vitali he had only one option and that was a rematch. You can argue who won Vitali or Lewis all day, heck it was a great 6 rounds, the best 6 rounds of HW championship fighting we've seen in god knows when, but what cannot be denied is Vitali wanted a rematch and Lewis wouldnt give it to him and was so scared that he retired. Thats just a fact. Again, there are fighters who duck fighters who I think theyd easily beat, but who offer little to nothing in terms of legacy. It hink the same with Joe and Dawson. Joe didnt want to fight Dawson, I think Joe would have clownstomped him into oblivion. I think Joe would have beaten Dawson until he was unrecognizable and dawson probably would have had his license revoked after being ruled braindamaged after taking 1200 slaps to the domepiece. But that still doesnt change the fact that Joe retired instead of fighting Dawson. Lewis did the same, the difference is we know for a fact Lewis wanted to keep fighting, with Calzaghe its a little bit fuzzier and more than likely he just was tired, wanted to kick back, dance, snort some coke and get back to his roots with Paulie Malignaggi and the rest of the cast of Jersey Shore.Comment

Looks like Vitali is going to fight again very quickley like he did after the Arreola domination, but i wish the brothers would quite wasteing their time with Haye. Haye is not going to fight them, thats obvious. Wlad fight Povetkin and Vitali give Valuev 4 million so we can have giant vs giant for Vitalis farewell fight. And i found out why Haye hasent responded to the brothers, because he has been busy doing this :*******:Comment

Its a shame no one is appreciating Vitali right now and it will take history for people to look back and realize how incredible the man is. Never losing on scorecards, enver been knocked down, 2 injuries are his only blemishes. He is active as hell, a good guy, a model for the sport, knocks everyone but 4 guys out........ugh I am going to miss him when he retires. Wlad is good, but its just not the same. Vitali is a guy who you can tell just loves to fight and wants to win always. I guarantee he still loses sleep about the Byrd and Lewis fight.Comment

he ducked because it was a pointless fight the fans didn't want to see
Lewis just beat Tyson, what was the point in losing the momentum of a great win to face Byrd ?
don't forget nobody looks good against Byrd (except Wlad), and people were not lining up to fight him, nor lining up to see him fight

It is a damn shame, both brothers are ambassodors for boxing and to sport in general. PhDs, fluent in 4 languages, two brothers who are champions at the same time - what an amazing sport story... In terms of them being boring, hell they much more intersting than Floyd and get the knockout almost every time, while acting like normal likeable human beings. You almost have to wonder at US audience's appetite for circus shows, trash talking, and bad behavior. Is that what the Klitschkos have to do to get a wider appeal in the US? It seems unless they **** or assault someone, they are not going to get the recognition they deserve with the casual American fan/critic...Comment

You memory must be hazy, let me refresh it for you: Lewis did not set out to fight VK, he was planning to fight Johnson and only after Johnson got injured did VK step in. Lewis dropped the belt BEFORE all that, so he ducked Byrd to face Kirk Johnson?
