maybe I am jumping the gun though...the opposition does play a part...but I don't doubt too much that Floyd could land like that on Duran or Hagler
floyd would get beat by lightweight duran I think?

Who do you guys think is not only the quickest but most consistently accurate boxer in history?

When I think of guys like Sugar Ray Leonard, Ali, and Meldrick Taylor I recall a lot of quick flurries, but missed flurries...

I remember them as throwing more quick "round stealing" like flurries with not much behind them...maybe 2 out of 6 of their punches land...

when I think of Mayweather, I see his "combination" speed being a tad slower, but 5 out of 6 of his punches land accurate and hard...

Now Floyd isn't necessarily a speedster like those guys. He relies on his speed to land quick unexpected punches from all angles...Ali and Leonard rely on overwhelming you with flurries that are hard to defend because they keep coming...kind of like workmen like flurry punches...

Pernell Whitaker is someone that is pretty close in my opinion...and maybe a low weight prime Mosley...

what are your opinions? I will admit, I am not too brushed up or well versed on my Meldrick Taylor history
Meldrick taylor had the fastest hands but he also missed alot. Ray Leonard had some amazing flurries and very good accuracy. Right now its a tie between leonard and mayweather to me. BUt they have different types of punches. Floyd tends to flurry with straight punches and Sugar Ray guys with the looping hooks when he flurries

The only argument people can say about Mayweather's first battle with Castillo is that he doesn't deserve the unbeaten record, he should have a loss, but after that what can you say? Nothing, because he beat Castillo the second time around.

He said that he thought he won the first one, but if they say it could have gone either way, and if he had he loss the fight, he would have rematched anyway.

So in the end, Mayweather has beaten everyone who he has faced.

Yeah, no doubt. He has beaten everyone he faced because he really beat castillo in the 2nd fight. Hatton vs Mayweather better be made

I love Willie Pep and Jimmy Wilde was so impressive with 131 wins and only 3 losses! but how good was their competition? They have far superior advances in boxing and skills, Floyd is almost catlike they would have trouble hitting him.

When Mayweather goes undefeated in his first 65 (or so) fights or wins all but one of his first 135 (or so) fights, then you can start mentioning his name alongside the greatest defensive fighter of all-time in Willie Pep. Oh, and the vast majority of Pep's wins were against a combination of hall-of-famers, champions, or top contenders of the day. His overall competition ****ing BLOWS Mayweather's out of the water.

And what's with this "far superior advances in boxing" comment?

^have you seen the tapes of pep? his style would get exposed by mayweather his style was more primitive boxers have advanced now if you don't believe me oh well! The only reason people get mad is because pep and wilde are legends! they fought the fighters of their time and their style was more advanced for their age and the fighters they fought were they as advanced? NO! The olden times fighters or throwbacks have one thing in common that alot of young fighters dont have anymore that is HEART and will to take punishment.
