Roy Jones was not the best at 160 when he was at 160. Julian Jackson and Gerald McClellan were the best 160 fighters and WBC champions when Jones Jr was in that division. Jones Jr avoided them. (Hopkins wasn't even ranked in the top five at 160 when Jones Jr fought him, he was nothing).

Jones Jr defended his IBF 168 title five times - three of which weren't even ranked in the top 10 at 168 at the time and another was just a 'blown-up' Lightweight. Jones Jr avoided the fellow top five World Champions (Benn, Eubank, Collins, Liles).

Dariusz Michalczewski was the Lineal Champion at 175, it was not Roy Jones. Jones Jr avoided Dariusz for a good 6-7 years and never did get it on with him. Jones Jr sucks.

Michael Nunn was constantly Jones Jr's mandatory in the mid-to-late 90's, Jones Jr did not fight him.

Even at HW, he didn't fight the best (Lewis, Tyson, etc).

The myth of Roy Jones lives on.. but he was a disgrace to boxing. Do you know that he wasn't ranked near the top 10 lb4lb before he fought Toney, but when he beat the out-of-shape and out-of-form Toney he undeservedly jumped straight into the #1 lb4lb spot (because Toney was rated #1 lb4lb at the time). But Toney was weighing 220lbs just 6 weeks prior to the Jones Jr fight and had to get down to 168! So Toney he was weight-drained and in no fit state to fight. Jones Jr remained #1 lb4lb for 10 years, conning you gullable fools by beating up mediocre opposition.. picking his opponents very carefully.

He was a great businessman, not a great boxer.
Dariusz Michalczewski only wanted to fight Jones in Germany Jones tried to make him come over to USA and he didn't want to tough luck.

Gerald McClellan had such a short career i doubt Jones ducked Gerald McClellan there were talks of it happening but because of tragic night vs Benn it didn't and when Jones won title off Hopkins Jackson had lost the title to Gerald McClellan in devasting fashion.

And Jones never avoided Eubank have you read what Eubank said ?? he said personally that he would never fight Jones because we would lose thats a fact.

And was Benn willing to come to USA vs Jones ?? or Collins ??

Toney has always had weight trouble in his career it was still impressive how Jones dominated Toney so how can Jones not deserve to be the number 1 in boxing when he just beat the number 1 boxer at that time ??

Uhh no just no Jones had moved up to Lightheavyweight in 1996 before Calzaghe was even world champion at Supermiddleweight Calzaghe won World title in 1997 and Calzaghe wasn't even a name in USA until he beat Lacy.

4 Hall Of Famers isn't a enough ?? name me another fighter in this era that has fought as many Hall Of Famers as Roy ??

Toney was the best Supermiddleweight at that time he was rated P4P number 1 or atleast close to P4P number 1.

Roy is defintely a top 10 in my eyes the same way Tyson is a top 15... Roy embodied the "Style On You" phrase that many new school boxers use, and i believe he will have 3-4 big victories ahead starting with Tito, continueing with Glen Johnson and ending with Hopkins, Calzaghe, Dawson or all three!

Well Hops and Toney are better them all of them guys. Roy dominated Toney and he beat Hopkins more convincingly then anybody else. Even a young Jermain Taylor couldn't beat a 40 year old Bernard Hopkins as convincingly as Roy did.
