Tito is a special case and an ATG. It is unfair to compare Miguel Cotto to him. Miguel is still respected by almost all of the boxing community and has given us a lot of exciting fights. I'm not convinced any fighter will ever be as loved as Tito was in Puerto Rico.

Tito was more charismatic and flashy. Cotto is more humble and quiet.

Who gives a ****? I find Cotto a far more skilled fighter than Trinidad anyways! Sure Cotto has the persnality of a pavement but at least he is no cheater, and everything he's achieved is due to his hard work and will.

i would say pacman has it right now currently. ricky hatton also had it. before that i would say julio cesar chavez sr. can oscar qualify? he had a great fanbase but i dont think he ever got the mexican motherland support.

Tito became a legend beating DLH at 147 and demolishing Vargas at 154 and killing Joppy to be the undisputed middleweight champion of the world. Trinidad is one of the best fighters of the last 30 years. He was a true character. If Tito would have beaten Hopkins, he would be a top 10 ATG.

Cotto is a lesser star but still a unique fighter and one of the best body punchers in boxing history.
